“This is not the best Residence Inn has to Offer..... I usually like these Residence Inns elsewhere”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2010

Ok-- It is a passable place. But many Residence Inns are much better (I have had to stay at this one a few times due to limited choices in the area).. Often when checking in you are delayed as there is usually only one person on the desk. The rooms are standard Residence Inn furnishings-- on that I have to wonder if the people designing the new decor EVER stayed in a hotel themselves???? In the standard studio/King the desk faces away from the TV and there is NO WAY to change it around. The built in table/ counter also faces away from the TV. So working or eating and watching tv are not an option unless you sit on the extremely uncomfortable sofa. Maybe need an upgrade which I am seldom offered....

But back to this location--- the food at breakfast looks a bit sketchy, old and dried up eggs, the food was hit pretty hard and replenishment was harried and unappetizing. The sealed yogurt containers seemed to be the best bet. The breakfast area is set up very poorly as well with coffee located by the entrance to the Inn in the congested area where people are checking out.

The staff was very resistant to allowing a late checkout (although I have the Marriott status to expect this) and the rooms can be noisy in the wee hours. On another stay there was a major leak into my room in the middle of the night and they were reluctant to offer me a new room-- the bathroom floor was flooded and it was suggested I use the other bathroom. All in all they just don't seem to be trying very hard to make this a pleasant experience.

I stayed at the Residence Inn Boston Tewksbury for 1 week on a business trip. It felt like a home away from home. I was traveling iwth a co-worker so we got a 2 bedroom. I was throughly impressed. We had our own space and separate bathrooms. The unit was exteremly clean. Each bedroom had a flatscreen televison and there was also one in the living room along with a fireplace. The staff was great. Breakfast was offered each morning. We also had a full kitchen equiped with dishes. I highly recommend this hotel.

Our reservation was "bumped" due to a girls' softball team that decided to stay extra days. We got relegated to a handicapped suite (i.e., no place for toiletries, high commodes, etc.) that was an apparent "no show" after we drove for ten hours in traffic.

The desk staff was useless, and the "duty manager" (who was also the property General Manger) was "missing-in-action" as the custodion responded to call after call to quiet down the noisy kids hollering and screaming in the hallways until late at night while their chaperones enjoyed an extended cocktail hotel. Surprise--- a bunch of rude New Yorkers during an extended "happy hour" didn't respect the requests of the janitor to control their juvenile charges!

Three calls to complain, to no avail. Who nows how many from other tenants--- we were told there had been "many" other complaints.

Check-out desk clerk could offer no compensation.

A request to hear from the MIA General Manager has been ignored for ten days.

Worst Marriott experience ever. Too bad, as the facilities are nice--- but if the glimmer of "100%" occupancy looms, individual tenants can go to perdition!

With other Marriot properties local to accomodate us, there is just NO EXCUSE. Do you
hear me Bill Marriott???

This Residence Inn is very nice. It is nestled in the woods a bit, was quiet and I really enjoyed having a balcony and being able to open the door to the outside. It is quite nice, with a separate bedroom from the living room and kitchen. The breakfast, which is complementary, was great! Overall, a great value and well worth it. Staff very nice and accommodating. Would stay again.

We enjoy residence inns, and this is no exception. It can't compete with the residence inns on the west coast (our only comparison points), but we were happy having the kitchen and whatnot. The staff was friendly and helpful, but the floor boards are quite squeaky so you need to get the top floor. It is a great location to see family, not sure it is near any attractions. As an aside you can use the fitness center to weigh your bags if you are going to the airport.

I travel a lot for business and have stayed at some of the competing hotels in the area. I was EXTREMELY IMPRESSED with this hotel and it's high level of service. I was told the hotel just completed a 5 million dollar renovation (it's beautiful) and has a new Management Staff, so any previous reviews should be disregarded. Ten minutes after I checked in, the Front Desk called to see how my room was and if there was anything I needed! The free breakfast is outstanding and the complimentary dinner Monday-Wednesday is a treat. All of their rooms have King Size Beds (when most hotels have full or queen size beds), and the bedrooms are separated by a door from the living room and kitchen. I even had a Fireplace in my room, although I didn't use it. For the extra space you get, the caring and attentive staff, and all the amenities they offer, this hotel is the BEST VALUE in the area!
