“Get away”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013 via mobile

My wife and I were looking for a quick get away in between snow storms so we decided to take a day off and go to the Wortester art museum, get dinner and spend the night in the area. The museum was a great hidden find, dinner was at the Wayside Inn (always great) and a stay at the Carriage house. The reason I picked it was it came with a dinner package at the inn, very reasonable, $95/person. The Inn is not the old Wayside Inn it is new, clean, quiet, and the staff was very helpful. Couple of problems; bar hours are not set, it's open when the staff is there, don't get a room by the elevator it has a loud bell. All in all it was a nice experience I would recommend it for a quick stay.

We stayed with other family members for our daughters wedding at the Wayside Inn. We found the rooms to be large and well appointed. It is a newer inn with more amenities than you would get at the Wayside Inn. Breakfast was included and good. There is also a nice small bar in the sitting area of the lobby which was nice and convenient as it was a good gathering place for our varied families.

Very Handy, off Boston Post Rd. Inn is very clean and modern and comfortable. Staff is friendly and accomodating. Prices are reasonable. Longfellows wayside Inn just up the Rd is the place to go for dinner an to enjoy the grounds and interesting historical buildings.

Room Tip: The rear of the building may be quieter as there is alot of traffic on Rte 20.

If you are looking for a comfortable room for one or two nights, this is it. We have stayed in the regular rooms and the semisuites. Both are clean and well maintained. This facility is on a par with Courtyard by Marriott and Holiday Inn Express. If you are expecting an old New England Inn, stay at the original Carriage House just down the road.

Room Tip: Choose the third floor for quiet.

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it was a very nice and comfortable experience. We got married at the Wayside Inn two years ago and last year we stayed right at the inn to celebrate our first anniversary. That was very nice but the inn gets pretty noisy with all the functions they have downstairs so we decided that we would try the Carriage House this year instead and that was a great idea.

The hotel was recently renovated but it has a look and feel that match the Wayside Inn well while offering some of the more modern conveniences. The lobby is very nice with a fireplace and large screen TV. The kin sized bed in the room was very comfortable and the bathroom was huge. They even offered free wifi.

We had dinner and breakfast at the Wayside Inn and it is about a one minute drive away, right down Route 20 on the same side so it couldn't be easier.

This is a great option if you are looking for the old fashioned charm of the Wayside Inn with some more modern amenities.

This is a great place to get away for the weekend...especially with the beautiful autumn weather. The location is perfect...really close to the Old Grist Mill, the Wayside Inn, and other beautiful attractions. This hotel is super clean and updated. The personnel at the desk were tops in my book! The ONLY negative thing we experienced was the noise level. You could hear people in the hallways as if they were in your room and by being on the 2nd floor, the people above us sounded like they were running relays in their room. Other than that, everything was GREAT.

Room Tip: Choose a 3rd floor room. There are only 2 floors with rooms on it (2nd and 3rd) so choose a 3rd flo...

We were in Sudbury to visit family. The Wayside Carriage House has rooms that are very stylishly appointed and quite comfortable, including a sofa (so much more comfy to view tv than sitting on the bed!). A stay there gives you access to the sister property, Longfellows Wayside Inn. We did not take advantage since it was pouring the next morning and we had a long drive. We'd definitely stay there again.
