A wonderful place to stay, and a real bargain. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and charmingly decorated -- each in its own unique style. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This is a great place to escape the ordinary! We've stayed there a number of times and wouldn't choose to stay anywhere else.

Very accessible directly from the highwy. Charming. quaint and very clean.
warm, friendly service.
We arrived late due to traffic. The young lady at the desk was very accomodating and told us of a great place to eat dinner. Not many places were still open and she called around for us. It was our anniversary and we wanted a nice dinner with some sort of entertainment; we got both.
Breakfast was good and the fireplace was a nice touch.

Hello my name is Bridget Briere and I recently stayed at the Sturbridge Country Inn. in Sturbridge Massachusetts, with my hussband for my birthday. I have never been to or stayed in an Inn before and I couldn't believe how wonderful our stay was. The room was very nice and relaxing, as well all the staff where very polite and helpful. They even offered to show us around and let us see other rooms similar to ours. We stayed in the King room which had a very nice Jacuzzi right next to a fireplace. they also put out champagne for us and the room has a huge king size bed, it also had room for extra guest, such as a family.

Having a love for the past and being in such a historic town, the Inn was perfect, we look forward to our next visit. It was like stepping back into the past, I loved the style and Atmosphere! Old American!

Sincerely,

Mr. & Mrs. Briere

This was the first time we have ever stayed in a bed & breakfast. It was wonderful and felt like "home". We were able to sit & relax with our coffee & tea in their sitting room before attending our conference. Very nice! The continental breakfast was just perfect, felt just like home. We used the "stay and dine" package and dining at the Whistling Swan was worth every single penny and bite! A great combination for us...The Sturbridge Country Inn for sleeping & breakfast and the Whistling Swan for an elequent dinner. We definetely are returning back again, that is for sure!

my wife and i arrived at the inn on a friday. the young lady who checked us in was very polite and helpful to us. unfortunatly that is where the nice weekend ended. upon entering our room ( located in the house) we were greeted by an ugly piece of plywood screwed to the wall. it appears it was hiding some plumbing. when we went into the" luxury bath " we found hair in the tub and on the floor. and beleive me this was no luxury bath. at that point we decided to inspect a little closer than we usually do when we stay away from home. pulling back the old comforter on the bed we also found hair on the pillow and sheets. at that point we decided to leave. we were told that there was a seven day cancel policy and that no manager was around but if they could sell the room we would get a refund for the night. we went to the village lodges down the street and had a lovely room at a cheaper price. calling the inn later i was told that our room had been sold so we would receive a refund. well several months later and about 8 phone calls still no refund. it is plain to see that money is all that matters to these inn owners. the building needs heavy upgrading and the housekeeping is terrible. you can do much better in sturbridge than the STURBRIDGE COUNTRY INN.

If you enjoy a property with faded and stained bed linens, junk furniture being passed off as antique.then you will love this place.
