My wife and I just had dinner at Tomasso Trattoria to celebrate a new job for our friend in the other couple we went with. We had reservations and arriving on time our table was waiting. Still or sparkling water was quickly offered and then our server came over and went over the menu as it was the first time dining here for the other couple. The menu can be a bit confusing, when taken in total, but the server did a good job of explaining his suggested way of ordering. The restaurant was busy and it seemed a bit of time between seeing him, getting drink orders or to have general questions about the menu answered. In any event it didn't seem that bad, but in all honesty engaged in conversation and drinks with the other couple I'm sure kept us busy and not focused on the pace of the restaurant. Appetizers were shared and good, along with a cheese service. My wife is Gluten free and the server was very good at providing options. There was a sword fish special two of us ordered and it was cooked perfectly. Moist with a great grilled taste to it, over a bed of baby spinach that was also seasoned well. The other entrees of scallops and chops I was told was very good also. I had a Tiramasu, along with coffees to end the night and there were no disappointments there either. Overall a very good experience. The vibrancy and atmosphere was lively, but not a distraction as all seemed to be happy and engaged. The food was good, but as I mentioned the service had hiccups now and again, I'm assuming due to how busy the place was. Drinks did take quite awhile to get off the bar and I've read other revues here with regards to that. All in all a good time had by all. You pay a decent price here, a bit above the norm outside the city. But we will be back and would recommend to others.
