“Great breakfast joint”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

Eat at this neat little breakfast spot, tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood, and you won't be hungry for the rest of the day. The range of breakfast choices is kind of ridiculous; my suggestion is that you not bother with the menu, but rather tell the server what you want, at which point he or she will say, "Ok, you want the Chatham" or something like that. The food is very good, very well prepared, and delivered fast from grill to table. Two minor knocks: the coffee was a tad weak, and the prices are indeed a little high. But an enormous, delicious breakfast at $9-12 beats the pants off an ordinary, blah breakfast at $7, so I would say Red Cottage still offers great value. They also serve lunch, which I'll try at some point. Enjoy!

“Very expensive for average food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013

This restaurant is one of the most popular in the area. I'm not totally sure why it was just ok. Nothing special. We ate breakfast and rang up a $30 bill for two people to eat a basic breakfast. The country cafe atmosphere was nice and it was entertaining to watch the cooks.

“Entire family loves breakfast at Red Cottage”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2013

We have been there for breakfast several times. The food is excellent. Try the signature hash browns. I have had eggs benedict, pancakes, french toast, omelets, all good. They offer intersting options like crepes and ham on the bone. Very busy. Almost impossible in the summer. Sweet, old-fashioned expereince.

“Great Food, Great Service and a Old Cape atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2013

We live in the next town over but have only been to the Red Cottage one other time. It is always too busy in the summer and we have always thought of it as a summer restaurant..but we were wrong. We stopped in to "give it a try" one day in early in October and we were pleasantly surprised. There are not too many of these types of eating places left..counter service, fresh food carefully prepared and thoughtfully served.
I ate the cinnamon bun french toast..2 giant slices of cinnamon bread drizzled with sugar and maple syrup on the side...sounds sweet, but it was perfect. I also have the delicious sausage links. Also, the coffee is very good.
My partner had crab cakes with their famous home fries...also delicious.
This place is a real treat, not to be missed if you are in the Mid Cape area, bring your appetite.
It is not inexpensive....but still reasonable for what you get. We had 2 huge meals with coffee and tea and our bill was $36.00 with the 20% tip.....not bad. You can get a cheaper breakfast/brunch but not of this quality.

“Outstading Breakfast !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2013

What a breakfast selection ! The menu has everything and anything a breakfast lover could imagine. Omelets galore, crab cakes, pancakes, french toast, All cooked in an old school luncheonette atmosphere. If you sit at the counter, you can watch the staff prepare the orders which is a show in it self.
