I have visited Heberts many times throughout my life and have always been wowed by the rich scent of chocolate and wealth as you enter the mansion. The holidays brought decorations of yesteryear and grandeur with animation and brilliance. The candy was fresh and you could see it being processed/packaged. The taste was as close to Belgium chocolate as one would get in the states. A few years back the Hebert family sold the mansion and candy manufacturing company. The new owners have tried to keep a family tradition but, the mansion has lost its glitter and the candy has lost its richness. Don’t get me wrong, the candy is still outstanding, but it is no longer great.
