Nice little walking bridge in a nice little village town. Several small stores to come and visit. If you're in the area stop by.

A garden on a bridge over the Deerfield River. Unique. Perfectly maintained by volunteers and a must-see in Western Mass. Seasonal of course

“A Pretty Picturesque Stroll Over the Deerfield”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

The little trolley bridge has been planted over many years with some beautiful, eye-popping flower beds. In the spring, especially, but also through the summer into the fall, the Bridge of Flowers makes for a gorgeous, leisurely stroll. There are benches tucked here and there to sit and read or contemplate. It is a wonderful reuse of the old bridge and you can view the backs of the picturesque buildings on the banks of the river, either side, against the backdrop of the surrounding Berkshire Hills. It is a charming stroll with things to do and see on either end!

“Very unique, free, worth your afternoon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

Shelbourne Falls is a nice quaint western Mass town to visit for an afternoon. The Bridge of Flowers, Glacier Pot Holes/Water Falls, and the downtown make for a really nice visit, but I wouldn't plan on spending more than a few hours as although it's a beautiful spot, there isn't enough to do for an entire day. There are a couple nice restaurants and shops, and viewing the pot holes/falls and walking the bridge are activities that really don't take more than about 5-10 minutes depending on how long you want to take it all in. I'd say Shelbourne Falls is a wonderful little summer afternoon detour on way your to other places, and if Shelbourne Falls itself is your destination don't plan on spending your whole day there. Shelbourne Falls lacks a really great inn right in the downtown. I think it there were an inn with possibly a view of the river and the bridge walking distance to the downtown that more people would visit.
