Do not stay at this place-- I have no idea how it could have been rated so well in Cape Cod Travel Magazine. It was terrible in everyway. The breakfast was cooked by the owner, who smelled so bad you could barely stand it, the bathrooms were never cleaned, the beds were hard and who knows if the sheets were clean. The owner had a confrontation with a different person eachday we were there. At the end of the trip the housekeeper did not show up and he had to clean the rooms himself and the rooms smelled like BO when he was done... when I told him he could clean the room for us he said that they don't clean the rooms till you check out, just straighten them up. He did not understand that I thought the rooms had an odor , aside from the bo- they smelled like dirty water. The towels smelled and you had to beg to get more- we had ourselves and our 3 kids- 2 towels were not going to cut it for us. The owner is a train wreck and ruined our vacation..we were so happy to go to the beach house we rented and terriffied to have to go back to the motel for the few days at the end of the trip, but we had to because no other place on the cape had any rooms for us. I would have rather spend $1100 to change my plane tickets...it is just a good thing we love Cape Cod! DO NOT STAY-- There is so much more I could say, but I am out of room!

I stayed at this hotel only for one day and could see the owner/recepcionist/laundryman/gardener/cook (he really does all those things by himself) only twice while checking in and checking out. First of all, the continental Breakfast consists of only a bagel and cold coffee from 8 to 10(closes around 9:45). The breakfast room is tiny tiny and dirty. The room was very dirty when we took it over adn we were afraid we would not be able to sleep there, it smelled that bad. The owner may sound like a nice guy when you are calling to make a reservation but after the money is paid he is a total nut job, would not give us soap for god's sake!

“Horrible, Terrifying Visit”

we stayed here this past weekend while on the Cape for a friend's party.

When we arrived, the owner/manager seemed quite harried and preoccupied. Even though we had arrive 2 hours after the time he told me we could check in, he informed us that our room was not yet ready and that he would let us in momentarily to change for the party, but that we must let him clean up/change linens, etc. This was at 4:30pm. We changed and departed for the party soon afterwards.

We returned to the hotel around 10:30pm expecting to be able to go straight to the room for a good night's sleep. We put our key in the door only to 1) be hit with a terrible smell of B.O. (the owner) and 2) to hear the owner/manager cry out from the back "Don't come in! Don't come in!"

we waited outside the door uneasily for another minute or two until he came around the corner quietly, eyes averted and mumbled something
about not having enough help and disappeared for the evening. Of course, we were very uneasy but had nowhere to go at this time of night during summer on the cape.

the next morning my husband went up to the main office while I packed to grab a couple of muffins from the continental breakfast, only to find the door locked and the owner yelling from inside that the breakfast was no longer available.

i would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone. I was terrified the entire night, worried about what the owner/manager was doing in our room when we arrived that evening, and also that he would come back while we slept.

you could do MUCH better for the cost ($225/night).

“Don't ask to see the room”

Spring Hill Motor Lodge

We picked the Spring Hill Motor Lodge based on a review written in a motorcycle travel guide. The outside grounds are clean. We had been on the road for 2200 miles and have traveled quite a bit. We have learned over the years to view the room before taking it. Well, that request sent the owner of this place out of his mind. He became very hostile and rude. Said he had never heard of such a thing. Right then and there we should have left. But we didn't, we stayed and remained afraid to ask this guy anything!!!! I am certain there are B&B's in the area that offer much more at the same or lesser rate. The towels were like dish rags, the bathroom reminded me of the one I had back in my camp days. Oh yeah, and on the first night there was a bug in my bed!! Skip this place.

    • Disliked — The inside was old, the owner went "off" on us when we asked politely to see the room after he increased the price by $5.00 a night because we decreased our stay by one night, by the way the place was empty, 3 of 24 rooms were occupied.
