we stayed here this past weekend while on the Cape for a friend's party.
When we arrived, the owner/manager seemed quite harried and preoccupied. Even though we had arrive 2 hours after the time he told me we could check in, he informed us that our room was not yet ready and that he would let us in momentarily to change for the party, but that we must let him clean up/change linens, etc. This was at 4:30pm. We changed and departed for the party soon afterwards.
We returned to the hotel around 10:30pm expecting to be able to go straight to the room for a good night's sleep. We put our key in the door only to 1) be hit with a terrible smell of B.O. (the owner) and 2) to hear the owner/manager cry out from the back "Don't come in! Don't come in!"
we waited outside the door uneasily for another minute or two until he came around the corner quietly, eyes averted and mumbled something
about not having enough help and disappeared for the evening. Of course, we were very uneasy but had nowhere to go at this time of night during summer on the cape.
the next morning my husband went up to the main office while I packed to grab a couple of muffins from the continental breakfast, only to find the door locked and the owner yelling from inside that the breakfast was no longer available.
i would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone. I was terrified the entire night, worried about what the owner/manager was doing in our room when we arrived that evening, and also that he would come back while we slept.
you could do MUCH better for the cost ($225/night).
