“great boardwalk!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

The long town boardwalk gives you the opportunity to walk over the large salt marsh, with its "long look across" and lovely flowers and plants. Definitely a nice walk to the beach!

“Beautiful and unique walk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

Visiting the Sandwich boardwalk was not our first choice during our trip, but we absolutely loved it as soon as we got there.
This long path is very unique, very simple and yet one of the most beatiful trails if you want to take a walk and enjoy nature. The path is well maintaine since it was recently rebuilt, and looking at the horizon or the water beneath your steps makes it just perfect.

There was also a kayak rental truck, it might not always be there though.

“lovely walk to the beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2013

Boardwalk was a great walk with kids - we went at low tide, late in the afternoon. Interesting way to see sand dunes up close - you are walking up and over them, essentially. Beach sand is soft and we had to take shoes off to walk along the beach. Views are lovely, and we got a few good family photos. We stopped to do this on the way out of town, and I'm glad we made the effort - a nice experience for all of us. My son (9) went waaayyy out on the jetty of large rocks, once we got to the beach - not sure this would have been possible at high tide!

“Nice short walk down to the water”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2013

This was a nice walk down through the marsh and ended at the beach. It was low tide when we went so I don't know what it's like at high tide.

It's not a very long walk and understand it's a boardwalk down to the beach, not along the beach although you could also walk on the beach if you want. We didn't have to pay for parking, but like others have mentioned, having to pay $10 for such a short walk would be a little ridiculous.

“See it at Low Tide then High Tide!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

This is no commercial strip. We are treated to postcard-worthy views of dunes, marshes, and a creek. We arrive at low tide and take a few pictures and return at high tide for more. The difference is astounding! You will be amazed.

We laster learn that the Sandwich Boardwalk is ranked number 8 of the National Geographic’s top 10 boardwalks. Destroyed in 1991 by Hurricane Bob, the 1,350-foot boardwalk was rebuilt with support from locals, whose names and messages are inscribed on the planks leading to a broad sandy beach on Cape Cod Bay.

Town Neck Beach is adjacent to the boardwalk. Rocky and dune-backed, Town Neck Beach is a beautiful spot to watch boats travel in and out of the Cape Cod Canal. At low tide, there's plenty of room for everyone.
