We were very impressed with our visit to Pairpoint Glass. Owner, Tom Fiocco, was mingling with browsing visitors and invited us to see the glassmaking process up-close by escorting us downstairs to the glassmaking area. While actively engaged in their workday, Pairpoint's glassmakers were also playful and friendly. One glassblower made a large witchball from start to finish, explaining his process along the way. When we later took interest in the Anne C. Ross Glass Collection, Tom invited us to another studio in the building, introduced us to Anne herself and we spent quite a bit of time observing her glassmaking and asking questions. We really enjoyed these one-on-one learning experiences in a true manufacturing setting. Not to mention, the glass is gorgeous! In addition to creating glass for customers ranging from the Metropolitan Museum of Art to Tiffany's, Pairpoint also manufactures for Sandwich Glass. While we enjoyed viewing the extensive glass exhibits at the Sandwich Glass Museum in neighboring Sandwich, Pairpoint provided the most memorable part of our Cape Cod glass experience. This is also where we did our handmade glass shopping!
