I recently took a short camping trip to Tully Lake and was incredibly surprised by how beautiful it is and how well kept the grounds are.
The first thing to notice is that you have to haul your own gear with carts provided at the office, so pack accordingly. Second, there are no sites (that I saw) for RV's, but if that's how you travel, make sure to call and double-check. There are not so many sites, keeping the place small, quiet and manageable. Also, the bathrooms/comfort stations are spacious and clean, and there are coin-op showers at a super reasonable price ($0.25 per 2.5 minutes). Oh, and they have nice, clean dishwashing stations!
Many of the campgrounds are near the waterfront (of Lake Tully), and there are several hiking trails right off the campgrounds. If kayaking/canoeing is what you like, you also get plenty of places from which to launch your kayak/boat/canoe. The lake has small islands to explore, which I strongly recommend.
And please remember that this is a camping place, not the Ritz, so if what you're looking for are marble bathrooms this is not the right place.
I'll be returning!
The rangers are really friendly and nice, and the place is overall a wonderful area to
Decide whether you prefer waterfront sites or woods instead, and call early.
