“Beautiful convenient spot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

Didn't know what to expect when we booked the Country Garden Inn but in did not disappoint. We were up in Mass to visit Salem around Halloween. The Inn was not too far away from Salem, Boston and tax free shopping in NH. The room was very nice, clean and in good shape. The entire Inn has a lot of New England charm and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The price was not too bad either. The fire place and hot tub were just icing on the cake. I would definitely return or recommend to others.

Thank you for your review of our property. We are so glad you share and appreciate our vision for our Inn. We put a lot of effort into being a great alternative to the "cookie cutter" hotels. We are glad you also were able to find the great nearby shopping (and tax free) as well as the historic sites in downtown Salem! We look forward to you staying again with us!

We had a chance to visit our daughter who goes to a small College on the North Shore. We found this place to be small but a gem! We really didn't know what to expect but the staff was very accommodating and made great suggestions to us about where to get dinner and the best way to navigate to the college my daughter goes to. It was a very scenic drive and very quiet neighborhood to be staying. Room was exceptionally clean and tasty decor. Our daughter has a couple more years at the college so we hope to visit this pleasant little Inn again!!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 102. Very cute and simple.

We are so very thankful for your review. We obviously cannot take credit for all of the beauty of the north shore area but we do appreciate the recognition of the hard work we put into our grounds. We are also glad you liked some of the suggestions we gave you for places to visit and dine at in the area.... again we cannot take full credit for those destinations being so fantastic but we feel confident in our knowledge of the surrounding areas top selections! We do hope you will be back to visit again.

Just north of Boston, this spot offered us a lovely big room, with a working fireplace and a jacuzzi. The decoration is nothing special, but not unpleasant. The double chair in front of the fireplace is a nice touch, a good place to sit and read together. The pool and hot tub were already closed up but must be nice in the summer. In the autumn, the quiet countrylike setting was perfect for enjoying the changing colours.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review our property. We are glad you got to take full advantage of your Jacuzzi tub in your room as well as the cozy fireplace. We are sorry the pool had already been closed up for the winter, however, the hot tub is still open and will be for another couple weeks. Guests simply could have asked to have it unlocked and we would have been happy to do so for you. The hot tub is still a toasty 102 degrees and wonderfully relaxing. We hope you will come back and visit us again real soon!

This hotel was perfect for us. We, stayed in 111. Two, comfy beds, coffee maker, toaster, refrigerator and microwave. Breakfast table and paper dishes and steel utensils. Quiet. Tv and radio. Shower stall a bit tight for my LARGE hubby. But, this is the best place. We will only stay here. Tip, the Village in Essex had the best food we ever had here in Mass. All meals.

Room Tip: We loved room 111 carriage house sky window and cove with arched window

We spent the night in one of the king bed suites. Great looking room. Fireplace, Jacuzzi bath and just a good size room. My husband and I thought this was a very cute place. Very quiet and relaxing setting. Great staff. The pool was on the small side but plenty of seating and the landscape overall was very well kept. The staff had baked scones and coffee cake for the reception table in the morning. We will definitely be back when we come to visit again. We would strongly suggest the king bed suites which are rooms 112-115. Price was around $200 per night.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2012 via mobile

A friend and myself stayed overnight as we were driving up 1A looking for a place to spend the night. I noticed the vacancy sign and triple AAA sign (I'm a member) both of which seemed positive. We were a little confused at first upon entering because the office door was closed, but once we knocked, we were greeted by the owner who was very nice. He quoted us the AAA rate plus tax which came to a pretty fair amount given that we were staying on a holiday weekend.

The room, although basic, was quaint and cozy. Which was perfect, because that's all we wanted. I didn't note that there was a check out time and even though we left around 11:30 it didn't seem to be too much trouble. Unfortunately, I missed the complimentary pastries and fruit because I was in the shower, but my friend got me a piece of coffee cake (which was quite delicious) and some grapes.

Overall, a very nice place to stay. Wonderful location, easy to find, and a very pleasant owner. I would definitely revisit! Next time I will have to remember my bathing suit so I can try out the pool and also check out the spa (since our stay was so short I didn't get to take full advantage of this option).

We had an impeccably clean room with all the typical accents of a luxury hotel, in a small inn and in a cute little New England town. The staff was friendly and personable. Too bad we only stayed one night! The pool is nicely heated and the jacuzzi was a perfect way to end the evening. The room even had a fireplace! Makes me want to revisit during the winter months! I definitely recommend for a New England get away!

What a great review! Thank you so much for taking the time to review our property. We are happy you were able to enjoy most of the amenities during your stay. The fire places certainly make that winter stay all the more cozy. We hope you will find your way back to the Country Garden Inn next time you come to Massachusetts.
