“good for lunch”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Our motel owner recommend Fish Shack for dinner, however it was only open until 8 pm. I would think because it was off season. Its definitely a family dining place. A few many children. The service was a little slow but I believe because of the off season and gorgeous weather brought many people to Rockport to stroll. The food was hot, plentiful and I liked that it had a light coating on the fried fish. Nice place to grab a bite.

“Lovely place (with a couple of issues)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

I visited the restaurant recently with my wife and her parents. We were visiting Rockport for the day and selected the Fish Shack for two reasons. We asked someone who looked local for a recommendation, and as I am a wheelchair user, the place looked wheelchair accessible (many places in Rockport aren't!)

The decor in the restaurant is very nautical and a glorious smell hits you as you enter, which really stimulates the appetite! We were lucky enough to get a seat right by the huge window with a lovely view.

The food was plentiful and very tasty.

The staff were very friendly. They could have been a little more attentive, as a couple of minor mistakes were made with our order, but these were swiftly corrected when raised.

Although the restaurant itself is very large and spacious, and ideal for wheelchair users, unfortunately the disabled toilet is not suitable. It is far too small, and getting into it is awkward. Getting out is even harder, as the room is so small you cannot turn around to face the door, so have to reach behind you to try to open the door and back out before the door closes again. Quite a task, and one which disabled people less agile and flexible than myself will probably find impossible. This needs to be addressed.

Overall though, a good experience!

“We had a great dinner here!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

We were perplexed with finding the perfect place to have our dinner. Should we go for more formal or casual? We selected Ray Moores Fish Shack as our place to dine. Partly was the wine list. Too many places jack the wine prices up so much that you buy a mediocre bottle and pay trough the nose! We found a bottle of SB from NZ that was $ 27.00 for a Branscot! Fine selection for the price as compared to the other restaurants available. Our waiter was friendly, brought our wine ASAP and we ordered lobster, a field green salad to share! We were very happy with our simple meal, casual atmosphere, family fun, and water view!

“Dont waste your time”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

The food was ok; prices were high but most of all the worst service i have had in a long time. The waitress was more concerned to hang out with her friends and eat than serve the room of customers. I would never return
