“Wonderful Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2012

I came to the Provincetown Inn for a two night stay on Cape Cod several years ago. I have been back at least once or twice a year ever since. It has become a favorite of my wife and I. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the continental breakfast is great and it is very reasonably priced. We always stay on the second floor in the Inn where we have a beautiful view of the bay and the town of Provincetown. Our room has always been very CLEAN and COMFORTABLE with loads of turn-of-the century charm. It is very convenient to the town center, restaurants and the magic of the Cape Cod shoreline. I can't wait until we return this fall.

Room Tip: We love the second floor in the Inn. The balcony is great with excellent views of the water and Tow...

The Pool is wonderful and huge for P-town. The beach is great with low tide in the morning for a nice walk and swimming in the afternoon. The bar at the pool is a must (really it is if you want to use the pool no outside drinks or food) but well worth it! If you want to bring your own snacks you can eat on the beach. If you are planning on spending most of your time outside the rooms relaxing by the pool this is the place for you! They even supply the towels for you which is so wonderful.

They have improved the wireless in the hotel which was FANTASTIC if you need to work while on vacation.

The rooms could really use some sprucing up but for what you get it is a good deal.

Room Tip: No elevator so pack lightly if you are going up!

I'm not sure I would call this a resort. The hotel is very old, it definitely smells old in the room too. The decor and bedding were so old, super out dated. We brought our own blankets. You can see from the hotel pictures how old the rooms are. The floor slopped, the rug was dirty and it felt dingy. The walls were thin and the lighting was terrible. The room got really humid inside and you had to use the AC, which was a bit loud, but at least it worked. It was uncomfortable to sleep at times. The bathroom was clean even though it was super outdated. I will say the water pressure in the shower was awesome, I never been a hotel where it was that great. We did pay a great price though, because we stayed a week before the opening week. The private beach was great, they had a bunch of chairs out. The pool was closed, which was annoying, they didn't bother to tell us this on the website, it wasn't until we checked in. Luckily the beach was right next to it, so that was a plus. The ocean also had a ton of sea life to explore, we found crabs, hermit crabs, snails, etc. It was fun for the kids that were around and for us too! Our room also opened up right to the ocean and they had chairs outside of your room like a patio area for you to sit out and you could tan too. There is a great rock wall to walk on that takes you to another beach, I didn't make it to the end, but wish I did. It is walking distance from downtown, maybe a 7-10 min walk. The people working were really nice and the continental breakfast wasn't bad, they had a waffle maker which was great, never saw that at a hotel. Overall if you do not mind an outdated more of a motel feel place to stay then I would recommend it. It's more of the location and the scenery and the private beach that made our stay nice here. I'd say everything but the inside of the room was fantastic. I would probably stay here again.

Room Tip: I would definitely recommend a room that is near the pool, but the room overlooking the ocean. The v...

We had planned on our trip to Provincetown for several months and were disappointed from the start. Upon checkin on June 19, we saw a sign on the counter stating that the pool was closed for renovations which had been going on since the spring. We expressed disappointment especially considering that the temperatures were in the 90's. We were then offered a 50 dollar gift certificate to be used at our next stay. This didn't really make it right, since we would have preferred to be updated on this problem and in a position to change our plans accordingly. Looking at a closed pool with near 100 degree temperatures is not a formula for a happy experience.

We entered the room with the AC turned off. When using the bathroom, we noticed that the sink was partially clogged. On a positive note, the breakfast was pleasant and the bed comfortable. It's a great location, and we hope things will improve with time.

We are so sorry that your stay with us was not what you expected. The delay on the pool renovations were not what we expected either. It was very hot that weekend and I apologize once again. The last thing we want is to have a guest leave unhappy. I sincerely hope that you consider giving us another chance in the future.

There's nothing new or trendy about the Provincetown Inn, but it was the right answer for us. The price was good, and we were right by Breakwater. It hasn't been updated in a long time, but it's a good answer with a kid. Don't go for the bottom end rooms, and bring a bike. Without a kid, I probably would choose something nicer in town.
