“A little piece of heaven on earth......”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2012 via mobile

I was fortunate enough to stay for my second time at this beautiful place, and if I had it my way, I would never leave! Yes, it is one of the more expensive places to stay in Ptown, but it is worth every single cent. The staff remembered me from last year, right down to specific details about my life! They are more than accommodating and just genuinely nice. They truly care about their guests. It's clear they love what they do and where they are. So peaceful.....Beautiful..... And the food is delicious!!!! This is the only place I will ever stay!!! You cannot go wrong.....

Once again we were overwhelmed with the level of service and hospitaility @ Carpe Diem. From the beauty and comfort of the rooms to the scrumptuous breakfast, they set the bar extremely high for the other B & B's to try and achieve. Their location is perfect for access to the east and west end and the beach is just a short jaunt away. The perfect getaway and always our first choice.

Room Tip: All are great but we usually are in the T. Williams.

This was my second stay of the summer at the Carpe Diem Guesthouse & Spa. I have stayed at least 15 times at this guesthouse over the years and would not dream of staying elsewhere - the breakfasts are fresh and plentiful daily. The owners, and staff are wonderful - friendly and informative. I have had to make special requests in the past and they have always been willing to help and accomodate me. Every time I come back it just gets better. Cheers!

Room Tip: I have not found a room I did not like.

This is a guest house that is run by real enthusiasts for hospitality. The experience was first class.
The service was friendly and impeccable and managed to hit all the right notes in terms of efficiency mixed with real warmth.
Breakfast was an event in itself and the daily special, prepared by the incomparable Tish, was not to be missed.

Oh, and the wine and cheese hour! What a great way to meet with some fascinating fellow guests. It was novel for us but it worked on every level
It's hard to see how Juergen and his team could improve on this. If only it was closer to home...

We stayed for a week at this so-called "Luxury Spa and Guesthouse". The prices were way too high and the upgraded, more expensive room we had was so small that the refridgerator was in the bathroom NEXTto the toilet. Disgusting.

The happy hour each day only had alchohol and when I asked the staff who had set up the spread if there was any wather or juice (anything that was non-alcoholic) he looked at me like I had two heads and just smiled and shook his head "No".

It was all Smoke and Mirrors. Our friends had used "HomeAway.com" or something like that and had a duplex ON the bay that cost the exact same amount that this "spa" guesthouse charged us per night. Not a good experience.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a room that does not have the refridgerator NEXT to the toilet...

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your comments about your stay at the Carpe Diem Guesthouse. We appreciate hearing from all of our guests since we can’t sleep in all of our rooms to see it from your point of view. The staff and owners were extremely disappointed that you did not enjoy your stay and wish that you could have brought your issues to my attention during your week-long stay.

I am especially concerned about you not finding non-alcoholic choices and the apparent staff response which clearly doesn’t fit with the hundreds of other guest reviews. In addition to espresso and 22 teas, we have lemonade and chilled cucumber water in the dining room and always have peach, mango and pear nectar upon request. We simply don’t have the room on the wine table for these drinks as we have greatly expanded our offerings to include local artisan cheese and small family wineries.

Warm regards,

Gary Sterman

Carpe Diem is a lovely, fantastically located B&B for exploring Provincetown. We stayed in the Robert Frost room (all rooms are named after literary greats) in the original part of the house - which was accessed from its own balcony on the first floor.

The breakfasts are sublime; on our first morning we had eggs from the owners' own farm along with home-made bread and jam. The following day we had freshly made spiced-apple pancakes (which, according to a regular, are a firm favourite among guests, and we could see why). There is also unlimited tea, coffee, fresh orange juice, fruit and bagels.

In the afternoon, complimentary cheese and wine was served in the courtyard outside - which was a lovely way to round off a day before heading out to dinner (or in our case, going out on a highly recommended sand dune tour!). There was also port and sherry on offer in the lounge area, and it's these touches that made Carpe Diem feel so homely. The staff couldn't have been friendlier either; it's run by three German guys who clearly love what they do.

It's a 30 second walk off Commercial Street, and about four minutes from the Marina. This meant it was easy to pop back to freshen up at any point, and it really couldn't have been better.
