We hired some bikes from Arnold's bike hire in Provincetown and they gave us a map of the bike trail. We rode to Breakwater/Pilgrims Plaque, then to Herring Cove Beach where the bike trail starts. follow the signs off of the road, near the sea to start the trail. The bike path is in great condition and has a yellow line down the middle to seperate 2 lanes of 'bike traffic'. From Herring cove folow the trail to Race Point Beach and have a rest on this beautiful beach. You may want to attach a picnic blanket to your bike to use here. We then continued the trail to the visitor center where you can buy some momentos. Complete the loop by following the signs to Beech Forest where it is nice to be in the shade for a while. Then head back to Herring cove, Breakwater and finishing back at Provincetown. The whole thing took us just over 3 hours but we did stop at the beach for half an hour and stopped to take lots of photos. Some parts are hilly and children and adults may need to walk their bikes up the hills. I did twice! Some parts can be steep with tight corners so be careful. its a good idea to bring water and snacks with you as there are no shops en route!
