Here for the 4th and the fireworks; lots of activity and great people watching. A great vibe.

“So much charm!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2012

We love walking up and down this street. There are so many charming restaurants, galleries, and shops. Plus there is always good people watching too. The street is very narrow so it can be difficult to navigate when cars are trying to pass. If no cars were allowed, this street would be a 10!

“Lots of little shops”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2012

Great place to walk, eat and shop. Lots of unique type of shops and there is a boardwalk in the middle where you could see the boats. Most of the restaurants had ocean view and at some of them you could walk from your table on to the beach.

“Awesome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2012

Commercial Street is the absolute best people-watching experience that you can ask for. The street has hundreds of small stores, bars and restaurants for you to explore as well. It can get crowded from 5-10pm as people venture out for dinner and carousing. Most of the stores stay open until 11pm during the Summer season and they are a couple of late night food options too.

“Typical Tourist Trap - with a gay tilde”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2012

Interesting enough place with many overpriced knick-knack vendors, food places, and art galleries. A place where the uninitiated can be exposed to gay culture (is there a defined thing such as this...? I guess), though precious little visible in off season (noted exception: Burger Queen), the merchants here seem to have established the precise maximum they can get for any given item. Interesting place, and we're glad we saw it, but have no need to return.
