“Excellent B&B in an excellent location in P-town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2010

i have stayed at this B&B for 3 vacations in August for the last 3 years now. The location on a quiet part of commercial street yet close to the action in unbeatable. The inn has wonderful charm and the Inn-keepers, Dan and Bob are wonderful, friendly and a joy to talk to. Service at the inn, from the wonderful breakfasts and real happy Happy Hour to the beach supplies and water bottles make us return year after year. This is a place where you can relax and make new friends during breakfast or Happy Hour. It is an excellent place to enjoy Provincetown at any time.

Somerset House Inn is the perfect B&B, and to me feels like a classy summer camp for adults. Not only does it have so much character and great service, you get to meet all of the other interesting guests and make true friends. The AM breakfasts can't be beat, not to mention the 5pm happy hours. The location is both super convenient yet quiet. The varied rooms are comfortable and well maintained. I can't wait to go back next year!

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Somerset for a six night stay. We could not have been happier with the selection. The proprietors, Bob and Dan are the best hosts you could ask for. We can confirm that the over the top raves about Bob's breakfasts are right on the mark. We loved the happy hours and meeting some of the other guests. The room was very comfortable and quiet and the location is just steps from everything. We would recommend the Somerset to anyone in a heartbeat! All in all a great experience! Extra points for the coconut scones!!

Once again my husband and I had a wonderful time. The breakfast was great and the free 'happy hour' was a really nice way to meet some new people. The staff is very accomodating and the inn itself is comfortable and attractive. The location is absolutely fantastic! We have stayed several times and will be going back again soon.

I have been making an annual pilgrimage to P-Town for several years now. The first few years I stayed at whatever house had availability. Then about 5 yrs ago the house with availability was the Somerset House. Now I won't stay anywhere else. I even will rearrange my travel dates to correspond to their availability dates! Bob & Dan are truly wonderful, warm hosts and run a terrific B & B. I feel like Somerset House is my home away from home.

I have stayed here since 1983, through 3 owners and it has gotten better every time, the location is a plus, close enough for the dozens of shopping trips up and down commercial street, but just out of range of the artist / performers dragging you in of the street to see the show...... evening reception is one of our favorite times, you get a chance to meet other guest and plan your next days events while people watching, and a nice hor dourves & a local beverage or two never hurts from area wine and beercrafters. Yes, we have stayed @ B&B's throughout the northeast and yes you can find places with ($$$$) 1000ct linens, down pillows and antiques everywhere, but hell, I feel like I have to be super quiet and careful not to break anything. The staff is very easy to talk with and give you great advise on restaurants and shows, they are always doing something to improve / update this very old guesthouse.

If you're looking for a comfortable, spacious and updated room, this is the place for you. NO ONE surpasses Bob and Dan's amenities for a full service breakfast (the Bobuffins alone are worth the trip, especially after a few drinks the night before), and a daily Starter bar from 5-7? Who else does this? It allows for patrons to mingle in a comfortable setting whether in the main room or out on the deck. I would definitely recommend either room on the 3rd floor, the views are wonderful and the bathrooms rock. It is close enough to the action but far enough to have peace and quiet in the evening. The restaurants in the immediate are are fantastic and a trip to the Red Inn for dinner makes any last night in Ptown special. Bob, Dan, Brody Sarah and the boys have become like family as this is my 5th year to head out. NYE is a great time to go believe it or not, with fireplaces in the room and Bob's witty banter, it's always plenty of heat for even the coldest heart. =) Two enthusiastic thumbs up, fine holiday entertainment!
