This studio is part of the Angels Landing condo complex, and sounded just right in late April when I booked the week of August 4-11. All the pluses appeared obvious: Fully-stocked kitchen with full-sized appliances, flat-screen TV with built-in DVD player, free wi-fi, window fans, ceiling fan, baseboard heat. Located on the corner of the 2nd level, it was apparently quieter and more private than unit 18 on the lower level, also available for that week. Best of all, the price, very reasonable for high season in Provincetown.
The minuses are my own personal opinion, and may not even bother other people:
• It is very small, with no seating area except the 2 hard dinette chairs
• The bed is right under the window, so it has no headboard and is difficult to sit up (to read, watch TV, etc.)
• As advertised, the condo complex has no air-conditioning. Provincetown weather runs cooler than on the mainland, but this summer has been incredibly humid. (My husband and I vowed never again to book a place with no A/C.)
• Parking, although free, is located in a lot on Cemetery Road, a 10-minute walk from the complex, which seems even longer in hot, humid weather.
In summary, this unit would be fine for a single person renting for the obligatory Saturday to Saturday, or a couple staying for a weekend during the off-season. For older travelers, the lack of air-conditioning and the rickety wooden staircase leading to the 2nd level might present problems. The complex itself is in a great location and many units are larger than this one. Book early if you want the pick of the crop!
