Description: Purple Feather is a true Mom & Pop place. All of our chocolate confections are hand made in our own kitchens. We also make all our own gelato, desserts and fudge. Our Hot chocolate and Mocha Lattes are considered the best by many of our guests. We use only "George Howell" coffee & espresso, and "Mem" loose leaf teas We make and serve panini and sandwiches for very reasonable price. Our baked mac & cheese is an old family recipe. We also serve Beer, Wine, Cordials and Cocktails. Try our new Ginger Martini before dinner or a new gelato cocktail after. There is something for everyone at Purple Feather

“Yummy - and they ship to anywhere!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2010

Amazing Gelato, very rich desserts, a wide selection of truffles, and a little sandwich bar in the back. You can eat there at little bistro tables or take your dessert on the run. Something for EVERYONE - poke around the shop and look at ALL of their displays if you don't believe me. This is a great and fun place for a treat or after dinner dessert in P-Town.

“The purple Feather will get you with their Homemade Chocolate”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2010

I mean it. They have outrageously good chocolate and Coffee. The owners go to buy their coffee in the countries where they are grown. Ask any question about coffee here. You don't have to ask about the chocolate-your mouth will give you that answer for you. They have live entertainment as the weather gets warmer.

“let the price befit the product and experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2010

From reading several of Purple Feather's reviews, it seems the only complaint anyone had was in pricing. Having been a loyal customer of PF, even when they were in a much smaller venue and didn't have the cafe setup, I must argue that even in a trying economy, gourmet truly is what it is, and one must expect to pay for something above the norm. The candies, concoctions and fudges are truly inspired and perfect (the sea-salt covered caramels are so good I get one daily every visit, just to reward my mouth for existing). Their gelato is rich, with many varied flavors. They even make a decent deli sandwich for lunch. Purple Feather is a purely id-based, whimsical splurge for people indulging themselves. Is it pricey? Yes. But the real question to be asked with price always gets ignored: does the price match the product? Using only the best ingredients, hiring the friendliest staff, keeping a clean and inviting establishment, and offering taste samples of those rich gelatos, all add up to an overhead that will require consumers pay for what they get. If the candies, deli foods, gelatos and coffees were not as good as they are, Purple Feather would've closed years ago. Tourist money is fickle. Loyalty is earned. One could go into the three other candy shops I know of in town and get ruder service, the same high prices, and fudge of no greater quality. There is at least one other gelato place in town, located in the Aquarium Mall, but that is all they sell. Gourmet coffees can be found at Joe's and at Wired Puppy. Deli sandwiches can be done in several places, such as Relish & Lands End Market. Compare these places with one another. The prices are similar. The quality is consistent. The service is top notch. It's a niche market in a tourist trade. It'll cost you, but if it's what you want, there's no reason to bemoan the dollars. We only live once.
