The reviews stating this is a hotel in serious need of a facelift were absolutely right. But in more ways than one. The management and staff were completely off their game. We booked two rooms through Hotwire. One room had a funky, musty smell. The other had a number of problems. The door didn't close correctly. The tub leaked all day and night, The lights in the bathroom flickered. Air conditioner was so loud when the compressor turned on that I thought a truck was coming through the wall. It woke me up every time it kicked in. At least it drowned out the sound of the drip....drip....drip... in the tub.
I went to iron a blouse and the iron just leaked water all over it, and didn't get hot. I went to the desk and asked for a replacement. Several minutes later an ironing board was delivered. I told them I wanted an IRON. 20 minutes later, a knock at the door. There is a young man trying to give me a mini fridge. He insisted I asked for one. Needless to say, the iron never arrived.
Next, the maid never came to clean our room. I had to chase down clean towels, and empty our own trash, and sleep in a dirty room. The tub, air conditioner and lights were never repaired. It was a terrible stay. I reported the issues to two managers. I was told since we were "prepaid" there was nothing they could do.
I didn't know going through Hotwire meant we weren't entitled to a clean, safe, noise free, air conditioned room. I guess if you get a discount, you have to take what you get. We got shabby treatment from a shabby hotel. They should be ashamed for the way they handled our issues.
And, if they care to reply, it's not enough to say "We hope you'll give us another try". Why on earth would anyone want to spend more money on a hotel that does not know how to treat their guests. Every paying guest should be treated with equal respect. It's shouldn't be based on how much you pay. If they don't want to treat customers with discounts the same as full paying guests, they shouldn't participate in those programs.
don't get a room by the pool. Make sure to check out everything in the room before you accept it...
