Awesome stay, Very clean room with memory foam mattress, really cool new restaurant with delicious food. - I had the braised beef short ribs. We live near by and stay here alot. Unlike other hotels around that we would never return to.hope this help. Sean M

We stayed in the John Carver Inn last year when we did a coach tour of New England, we had checked out the reviews for the hotels we would be staying and the JCI came bottom, it had been mentioned that some of the rooms had an awful smell from the extractor fan from the kitchen, guess which room we got!!! the smell was pretty awful, the room otherwise was ok a little tired looking and dark but comfortable enough, the Hearth & Kettle was again just ok, we only had breakfast there on the few days we stayed, the staff were friendly and nothing was any bother to them, but we felt for the location of the hotel it could be so much better.

Romantic getaway in a beautiful New England town. The room was clean and classy. Nice jacuzzi! Great town for walking, shopping, and drinks. Close to the ocean and many activities. Whale watching, Plymouth Rock, harbor tours, gift shops... Lots to do.

I have to say...I reviewed John Carver Inn and not such a good way back in June due to an issue of overbooking and being quite upset. BUT-when I called to re check if they had any rooms after staying one night at another hotel, they were able to get us into a suite with a fireplace. It was so nice and cozy in the room. The little one enjoyed the pirate pool. The location is fabulous. The front desk staff is super friendly and warm.
It's a great place to stay...location is perfect...pool is great...and rooms are small but cozy and inviting!

I have been using the John carved for 25 years and I am afraid it has changed it was always a very friendly place with an old fashioned homely feel they have modernised and it now feels just like any other hotel. The staff has totally changed the restaurant staff used to be like old friends and the bar staff especially Carol remembered me even months later. Sorry carved but preferred you before.

Doodlebugxxx, I am sorry to hear these comments of how you feel. We have upgraded our Tavern from your last stay and tried to make it more comfortable for our guest. We here at the hotel miss Carole as well, but when she retired we were left with no choice but to bring in new people. She was a valued member of our team here at the John Carver Inn for many years. Even though we have some new faces mixed in with our seasoned staff I feel that they are working hard to give you the same great service that you received before. I hope that you are willing to give us another try the next time you are in Plymouth. Thank You -Joe

While I was in Plymouth, we ate at the Inn. I had ordered salmon, with mashed potatoes, glazed carrots, and a salad. The salmon tasted great!, but the carrots were a little uncooked. We had cream brulee for dessert with whip cream, which also very good; unfortunately it was served in a small cup.
However, the staff were helpful, courteous, and friendly. The dining room is set up nice and there's plenty of information, travel brochures, and a very small gift shop area.

This was our first accommodation after arriving in New England and we were very pleased with the room and the Inn in general. Great spa and swimming pool and lots to do within a short walk of the inn. Wasn't so chuffed with the Hearth & Kettle restaurant as we thought it quite expensive, so we had breakfast at Perseys Place, a 5t minute walk away. The Mayflower 2 is a nearby attraction worth seeing and lots of eateries to try out.
I must say the beds were very comfy and the furniture was antique and fitted in so well

Room Tip: We were in room 318 at the front of the inn and we had no problems

Green Features: Good environmental practise where the towels etc were concerned, only put them for washing if necessary which saves the environment
