If you're in a wheelchair or on crutches, don't come to this cafe because you'll be standing at the foot of a steep flight of stairs, cranning your neck as you look whistfully up. You guessed it! Plane Jane's Place, located at the Plymouth Airport, is not at ground level. It's a bit like a diner (in its decor) on steroids .... you clamber up, up and up that flight of stairs to disappear from view. But eureka, you've made it! And if you've got kids with you, they'll love you for bringing them here.
And not just for the omelettes, sandwiches, subs, salads, pancakes, burgers and other nosebag offerings. No, indeed not! They'll love you because ... well, actually, they won't love you at all for bring them here. No! But they will love the experience of being here and seeing light aircraft, helicopters and small jets taking off and landing a mere stone's throw away.
The excited kids are almost certain to want to eat their meal outside, perched on the elevated stools in the viewing area ... while you and other adults sit on less heady, lower to the ground, chairs, Not to worry, though! You'll still see the planes coming and going.
What's the food like? Who cares! The planes are there, constantly taking off and touching down. Oh, you care about the food and want me to say something about it. Well, the food is delicious. Why would you think otherwise?
