“Lunch at 42 Degrees”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2012

Not too many places to lunch in Plymouth area so this is a safe bet. Diverse menu, decent service, attractive surroundings.

“Something good comes to Manomet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

For those of you not from Plymouth, Manomet is a village within the town. It has some good breakfast and lunch places, but nothing remarkable when it comes to finer dining.
The new owners changed more than the name, the inside has been redecorated nicely and the outside given a facelift.
The service was very good. We ended up with two servers bring the meal and there was just the two of us for dinner. Drinks, bread and the meals came out promptly.
The Delmonico potatoes were excellent as was the butternut squash. I'm not sure what they added to the squash, but it sure was a cut above.
We both ordered the lazy man's lobster. I usually do not order lobster in a restaurant. I love to cook it at home the simple, old fashioned way - fresh from the seafood market, boiled and served with lots of butter.
I will stick with that in the future. For those not familiar with it, lazy man's lobster is first steamed then the claws are removed from the shell stuffed in the body of the lobster along with stuffing, shrimp and scallops and then baked. The shrimp and scallops were just fine, but the baking process dries out the lobster, especially the tail, which is the best part.
I really can't fault the cook for something that is simply a function of cooking the lobster twice. Gorden Ramsay could have made it with the same result.
The good news is they had a lot of other fish on the menu, with the variety changing daily based on what was caught. I look forward to going again.

On our third visit tried the baked stuffed lobster. Absolutely great. Stuffed with scollops on shrimp. Looking forward to next visit.

“Excellent Replacement to Foppianos in Manomet, Ma”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2012

We couldn't believe when the old restaurant closed suddenly, but we are very happy that this is the replacement. The decor is absolutely stunning. We found some of the old staff and were glad. The prices were great and the service, as well.
