“Over Rated”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2012

After reading a great article in South Shore Magazine we decided to give this restaurant a try. Now I must say that the beer selection is great & the Steak & Cheese pretzel is very good & unique. But its all down hill from there. The Shepard s Pie was not very good. Pureed veggies & a thin strip of mashed potatoes and dry dry dry. This dish was served extremely hot, like it was put into the microwave. Not your Grandmothers Pie. The Galumpkis ( stuffed cabbage) was so hard I had to use a steak knife. That was not risotto inside but regular rice. The recipe from Campbell Soup is better. The burger was good but the onion rings were way over battered. Wait staff is very nice & the place is clean. The high ceilings make for a very loud evening. It also gets very very crowded.

“Very good food and craft beer--what more do you need?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

We went for a beer tasting and again for a beer matching dinner.

Earl Carter was there for the tasting.

Craft beer with good food not just bar food is where the craft beer movement is going.

“Trying hard but needs work”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

We live in Plymouth and we were looking forward to trying out the Publick House. The service and atmosphere are great but the food really fell short. I feel it was a bit too greasy and while the menu sounded very appetizing the food really didn't really make it past a grade of B. On the plus side there are plenty of interesting beers. We will probably give it another try as we like to support local business and hope the food might improve.

“Different!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012

This is a great change of pace for Plymouth. If you get stick of clam chowder or meat head bars this is your place. We went with my parents because we heard it was very good (on yelp and trip advisor). I was nervous it would be loud for my parents but we were there around 6 so the music wasn't bad.
This is the type of place that a short but creative menu, their special board was very interesting- duck and buffalo chicken chowder. They have an awesome beer menu.
We started with the sausage app- it had two kind with homemade mustard and the Philly Pretzel. The pretzel was amazing! the toppings were inside and it was huge! Enough for all four to share. Dinner was good, my dad was excited because a lot of the food was german which he likes, he got dish that has veal and chicken? in cabbage. He said ti was good. I got the special Kobe beef hot dog- that was way to big. Others got buff chick chowder and stroganoff. All were good.
Waitstaff is a little slow but it is done so you take your time. Anytime we needed something the waiter would come over for refills.
Wish we had saved room for dessert! All homemade.
Overall a great change of pace that everyone loved. My husband and I are going to go back on our own to try the different apps and beer menu.

“LOUD ATMOSPHERE AND MEDIOCRE FOOD”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2012

I tried this restaurant on a Saturday night. The music is blasted all over the restaurant making it difficult to carry on a conversation with you waitress or my husband. The service was very....slow. We tried the lobster quesadilla which was okay. Next were our entrees, the skirt steak was lukewarm with too much garlic and spices. My husband tried the burger which he described as okay. We both waited so long for our food to come out that we lost our appetite and left 1/2 of it there. The only plus is the extensive beer selection. We both agreed we will not be back any time soon.
