“Nice neighrborhood bar”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

Great place for baby hot dogs and your favorite drink or beer. The atmosphere here is casual and laid back. Several
flat screen TV's showing your favorite team playing!

i love their hot dogs...this place does not accept credit cards which is unusual (easy to hide cash?) other than their famous dogs... everything else was ok

“Gotta have my baby hot dogs.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2011

This is a classic local watering hole known far and wide for it's hot, fresh grilled baby hot dogs. People that leave town to go away for school or work often return only to make a bee line for their favorite baby hot dog joint. In Pittsfield, you actually have a choice in the baby hot dog world and there are lines drawn in the sand and family feuds over who has the best baby dogs, Teo's or the Hot Dog Ranch. Personally, I like 'em both. They are both good family run places and it's really a matter of personal taste or local loyalties. Hot Dog Ranch has a good sized bar, high tops, booths and a more extensive menu if hot dogs aren't your thing. (Excellent burgers and fries!). Lots of TVs that you can see from just about any seat in the house and a good place to watch a game. Plenty of Boston fans here (Patriots/ Red Sox /Bruins) but always a friendly, good-natured crowd. You have a choice of toppings for your dogs but the regulars know that ordering with "everything" means yellow mustard, fresh chopped onions and meat sauce on a warm steamed roll. YUM!! Gimme "three with everything" and an ice cold draft any day! The main (perhaps only) difference between Hot Dog Ranch and Teo's dogs is, in my opinion, the meat sauce. They're each a little different but both very tasty. This signature sauce is best described as a very savory, ground beef based bean-less chili, but not hot or spicy. It's unusual and very flavorful. I've traveled extensively and never found anything else quite the same. I've been going to the Hot Dog Ranch since it was "Linden Lunch" back in the 1950s and 60s and I'll continue to be a weekly regular as long as I live. If you're in a hurry, just go to the take-out counter in front and get 'em to go!!

“"Best little hot dogs ever"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2011

The Hot Dog Ranch was opened in the 1930's and although the decor looks like its never been updated the hot dogs make up for the rustic surroundings. There was a family tradition as to how many hot dogs could be eaten in one sitting with 30 holding the record. Before sanitary regulations stepped in the hot dogs were lined up on the servers arm as many as 12 to 15 at a time creating a side show of delight. Now the main attraction is the hot dogs themselves with all the fixings. The secret recipe sauce still remains elusive to those hoping to copy the taste. It is an attraction in Pittsfield that needs to be savored. Make sure you get your dogs with all the fixings and let me know if you can top the 30 dog competition consumption in one sitting.
