Its every totally blah restaurant experience you have ever had rolled into one. Iceberg lettuce salads with institutional dressings, square whitish tomatoes with no flavor; you have seen these type of salads before at truck stops or any kind of cafeteria. Our "woodfired pizza" with thin and pale. Very little marinara sauce, and none of the artichoke and spinach promised on the menu. Also no wood smoked flavor or the crispy uneven texture of a real woodfired pizza - the chicken pieces were little salty square nuggets, right of a plastic bag. No one bothered to eat more than one slice. My husband's steak was flavorfull and well cooked, but served cold. My friend's macaroni and cheese was all cheese and sauce, very little pasta - she took about two bites. Fortunately the dinner rolls were tasty and hot out of the oven, you are going to want to fill up on those. The wine list was on one side of a plastic tent card.
As for having TV screens right at your table it might distract you from the food. We looked around and the tables who were watching TV looked like long marrieds, who had long ago run out of things to say, so they turned on the tube and tuned each other out. A sad statement, but then again, better than the food.
The restaurant is handsome on the inside and the outside but no one in the kitchen is paying any attention to food quality or preperation. Come on Pittsfield you can do better than this!
