The Chocolate Sparrow, as the locals refer to it, is a wonderful culinary and cultural experience you do not want to miss when visiting the Cape. It is the "go to" place in Orleans and surrounding area for great rich coffee, cappuccino, latte, mocha, and so much more. For the really addicted coffee drinkers, we can buy rich, fresh coffee beans for our early morning grinding at home. Great breakfast options, especially with the blueberry muffins, croissants, and scones, will start your morning in a most memorable way. Soup and sandwiches are satisfying for lunch. Then, go to the "fudge" counter for the best fudge in New England, maybe the world? And, so many chocolates, truffles, and those chocolate covered cranberries are divine.
For the children, they love selecting candies from the multi-layered plastic candy containers in one corner of the Sparrow. My grandchildren love the "gummy worms and bears" and other multi-colored, sugary and gooey delicacies.
The Sparrow has a constant, great "people-watching" stream of locals and tourists coming and going about their daily rounds. Then, there is the stream of computer "groupies" to connect with the free "wifi" and drink rich coffee for a long time as they fall down the rabbit hole.
Daily newspapers abound for those of us that love to catch up with the news over coffee, trying to slowly wake up. It is the perennial meeting place for families, new dates, lovers, and local business meetings.
And, my bischon Spike, loves the Sparrow as they will provide a bowl of water after our long walk. And, you can buy 'doggie doctor" approved white chocolate covered doggie biscuits/bones.
If you don't enjoy the scene and goodies at the Sparrow, you just cannot enjoy life.
Drive, walk, run, bike and /or skateboard to the Sparrow. Enjoy!
