“Cove Motel in December 2006”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2006

My husband and I stayed at this motel for a wedding in Brewster. It was clean, but the rooms are in some need of repair. The bathroom tub had spackling that was noticeable, and some of the lights did not work. The bed was comfortable and the staff was good. It is across the street from a "Christmas Tree Shop" which is a great discount homewares store chain.

I would stay here again, but only because the price was right ($67).

The Cove motel is a nice motel that has been well kept up. The rooms are spotless and most of them have a great ocean view. The pool is surrounded by lush plants and makes a person feel like they are in a tropical pardise. There are few good restaurants in the area, but who needs restaurants when you can easily cook your own meal. We went to the local Stop and Shop, picked up some hot dogs and hamburgers, cooked them at the motel's grill and had a nice relaxing dinner by the water. The motel is very private, but also is near the sightseeing interests of cape cod. The only problem with the motel is that they do not have any sort of breakfast served here, and the prices are on the high side. Overall, this is one of the best motels we have stayed at in Cape Cod.

We love the Cove and have stayed there for a few nights in August for many years. It is set back a bit on a less busy street than many motels on the Cape and it is within walking distance of many good restaurants, a great mini-golf course, a nice ice cream place and the best bakery on the Cape, the Cottage bakery, is right around the corner! (do not miss the Dirt Bombs, a sort of large baked muffin smothered in cinnamon sugar, tastes like the best cinammon donut in the world!). The staff at The Cove is unfailingly pleasant. You have a view of the cove in Orleans, which is very pleasant, and the motel even offers a free boat ride around the Cove! There is a small pool and a shuffleboard court. The rooms are nothing special but they are certainly nice enough and ours have always been clean. They all have little refrigerators which is a helpful touch. And the rooms have DVD players. We have found the beds to be comfortable. We once stayed in one of the larger suite rooms that had a direct view of the cove and was large and sunny, worth the extra money if it is available! Note: book early in the summer, the place is very popular!

Stayed 2 nights at The Cove in Orleans. After reading the reviews on tripadvisor, I expected a little more. We had a waterfront view with a beatiful view over the cove, but the mattress of our kingbed seemed to be pretty old.

We also found hair in the tub, that were definitely not ours. Other little fluff balls were still there even the next day. So they should really improve concerning the cleanlyness!

A pro is for sure the real nice staff at check-in and the location. You are right in the middle of the Cape and have a pefect base for your trips.

By the way, if you like seafood, you should try Lobster Claw right on route 6A. Great food for reasonable prices!

We stayed at the Cove for the first time Mid August, 2005. After staying at various places on the Cape, Sea Crest in Falmouth, Sheraton in Hyannis, a small family run motel in Dennis...the Cove is the best place we have stayed on the Cape. We stayed in deluxe room with two queen size beds. When we arrived, I was upset because the previous guest was smoking in our no-smoking room. The staff went out of their way to correct the situation. They remove any the linens and replace them, place some sort of air cleaner and bomb our room with some odor remover. They were wonderful. I am a bit of clean freak...I was happy with the cleaning staff. They really do a nice job cleaning the rooms as soon as possible. The pool was small, but it has a nice design to it. It's a square, but the bottom of the pool is shape like a bowl. It was perfect for our kids. We enjoyed the DVD player provided. It's in a great location, walking distance to several restaurants and stores. We are planning on returning next summer. The only thing I would like to see them provide in the future are beach passes to the guest and internet service in the rooms.

The Cove motel in Orleans, MA is a nice place to stay with a very helpful and pleasant staff. It has a great location, close to the Cape's main highway, so no matter where you want to visit on Cape Cod, you can get there pretty quickly. There are many restaurants and shops within walking distance or a short drive away.
The rooms are nice, a bit small, but have microwaves, refrigerators, coffee makers, and DVD players. Our main concern is fact that they call some rooms "waterfront" and charge extra for those rooms. The waterfront rooms are in a separate building the the main motel. If you have the end unit (we did) then, yes, it is a waterfront room with a view of the town cove. If you are in any of the other rooms, your view is of a courtyard and you have to go outside to see the water. Not really worth any extra cost.
If you stay here, and are looking for a good casual restaurant, visit the Yardarm restaurant just down the street. They have great home cooked meals and a super-friendly staff.

I have visited the Cape twice and both times have stayed in Orleans and stayed at The Cove. It is an older motel, but it is very nice. Located on Town Cove, the motel offers free boat rides out to where the cove meets the Atlantic Ocean. I highly recommend taking the boat tour!
Also, a little off subject. There is a wonderful little bakery (not associated with the hotel) just around the corner called The Cottage Street Bakery. I highly recommend it as well!
