“Disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2011

This is our 3rd year going to Sidecar and always considered it a well kept secret. Now that it has gotten great reviews I am sorry to say service has been AWFUL. Was told no reservations for a party less than 5, willing to wait, took a high top at bar, bought drinks and was promptly told to vacate table as a party of 2 wanted to order dinner. We said we wanted to order dinner but since we were party of 3 could not be served at that table.Told our wait would only be another 10 minutes, after 20 my daughter talked to hostess and was told there was another party ahead of us. News to us. We decided to leave as the 3rd person in our party was 80 yrs.old. As I was leaving I suggested to hostess that perhaps next time she should be more honest as to wait time. She laughed. Enough said. Pam Kelleher

“Lovely meal, nice atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2011

We ate here on our second night in Oak Bluffs, and it was excellent. We had a table outside, and it was busy, but service was very good. The food was also delicious, and the prices reasonable.

“Great food, indifferent service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2011

We shared 2 excellent entrees and the waiter listened carefully and followed through on a food allergy issue. But waited a long time to be acknowledged and then were told bread would cost extra - for entrees at $27 -$30, that isn't reasonable. Still, the lobster Mac and cheese is in fact, worth the trip!

“disappointed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2011

My husband and I had dinner at Side Car Cafe last night and were disappointed with the service and the food. Our server was unable to answer a few general questions about the menu and the beer selection. Our salad, which we shared and which was quite good, was served within a reasonable time. HOWEVER, we waited over 40 minutes for our entrees, well after people who arrived after us had been served. Finally, our meal arrived. My husband's entree was hot and very good, but my scallops with carrot risotto were luke warm at best. The dish should have been described as carrot puree with a little risotto as opposed to the impression given by the menu that it was a portion of risotto.

“Excellent main course but very uncorfortable chairs and table”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2011

Service was slow but friendly.
Didn't like the mushroom cigars. Like eating fried baby food.
Table water was warm.
Entrees were great. I had the Lobster Mac and Cheese. Could have used larger pieces and more lobster total but for the $22 price it was well worth it. Great comfort food. My wife had the fresh whole seas bass. Fish was very good. My wife ate the whole thing which she never does unless it's really good. Her only complaint was the sides were all mixed together again like baby food.
Overall worth while. Good find.
