We were walking through downtown Oak Bluffs in search of some place for dinner and passed the Sidecar Cafe & Bar. I'd read some reviews on Trip Advisor before we left for vacation, so the name stuck in my mind and we decided to give it a try. We were seated right away. The place has a gastro pub-like atmosphere. Our server was pleasant and efficient, though a little aloof. You must request the tap water. You get to keep the bottle at your able for refills. Be sure to check out the bottle label. We'd eaten a late lunch and were not greatly hungry. We chose to share an appetizer and entree. We had the Curd and the Cured, which included 2 excellent cheeses -- one from Italy -- pickled vegetable relish, chicken liver pate, pureed garlic, and toast points. It's a big plate with small servings. It was plenty for us -- just a taste of this and a taste of that. We also enjoyed one of their fish specials that night. It was bass with baby carrots and pea puree. It was a little on the salty side, but otherwise eclectic and delicious. We also had dessert -- The Sidecar Bar, which was basically a gourmet candy bar with peanut butter, chocolate and caramel candy bottom.
