“The four of us fell for Isabelle!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2008

This is our second stay at a B&B in Oak Bluffs over the last two summers. We tried to stay once again at the Oak Bluffs Inn (rated no. 1 by your readers) but there was no vacancy for the four of us. So we settled on Isabelle's Beach Club and were surprised to find it even better! The decor is simpler but the rooms and common areas more serviceable and spacious. The mattresses very high but comfortable, the bathrooms small but the water pressure great. The porchside view and the easy access across the street to Inkwell Beach beats being in town. And, quite frankly, French-Canadian Isabelle is the most charming and delightful and efficient and helpful B&B owner I've ever met--and that's saying some after 30 plus years of patronizing such establishments! The waffles and muffins for breakfast and the cookies at tea time are tasteful and generous, the beach chairs and towels new and attractive. What's not to like? Perhaps the price but it seems to be the going rate.

  • Liked — The porch and the location.
  • Disliked — Lack of closet space.

Isabelle was a most gracious hostess. She made us feel right at home. The room was very clean and bright. Breakfast (i.e. waffles, bagels, muffins, cereal, fresh fruit and freshly squeezed orange juice) was wonderful, and the fresh-out-the-oven chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon were a great treat! We could not have asked for a better location--we were steps away from the beach!

We are looking forward to our next trip!

Our stay at the beach house made us feel right at home. The rooms were decorated tastefully and were very clean since they just re-did the entire place. The proximity to the beach cannot be beat and view is amazing. Coupled with a mini fridge and the most comfortable bed ever, I will definitely be back! The best part though was the adorable french inn keeper (Isabelle), she is one of the sweetest women I've met and was delightful to talk to. Highly highly recommended!

The reason we booked at this bed and breakfast was the friendliness of Isabelle over the phone when I called to get more information and the price was reasonable for the area.
We were not disappointed. On arrival we were greeted by Isabelle's son Austin, age 11. He is a manager in the making .He proved to be so helpful and enjoyed serving us breakfast. Just a delight. Isabelle made us feel as though we had known her all our lives.
She just bought the beach house and has remodeled it. She has done a wonderful job.
Everything was spotless. We had a King size bed with the room overlooking the ocean. We looked into all the rooms and they were all beautiful.
This bed and breakfast was close to town and the ferry, close enough to walk. There is great bus service. We took the Island Tour bus to see the entire island and it was informative.
In the morning Isabelle's served fresh muffings, bagels fruit, juice, cereal and you could make your own waffles. Austin likes to make your waffles and will seat you outside on the beautiful porch overlooking the ocean if that is your choice.
We would recommend this to anyone and hope someday to return.

This place was recommended to me by another inn owner. It is now called Isabella's Beach house. We were the first guest of the season after renovation. They were still making renovations when we got there getting ready for the memorial day week end. All beds are brand new. All rooms are freshly painted. Gone are the old owners. Isabella lives in the area and knows the island well. She was able to recommend restaurants and shops. We also met the owners. Every one was nice and polite. I would stay there again as you cannot beat the location.
Location was very nice, facing the beach. Our room had brand new king size bed. They do not use paper plates or plasic forks. For breakfast they serve tea, coffe, cereals, begals, bread, OJ, and muffins (continental). They have free wireless internet connection.
Only negative was that the place was not fully ready but almost there, probably done by the long week end.
What amazed us about this little town is that everyone knew every one and they were good people. They did not have much knowledge of trip advisor except they knew that previous owner had bad reviews. Isabella has managed hotels in that area for seven years. She is French Canadian.
