“Stellar baked goods”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013

Woodstar is one of my favorite places in Northampton. For starters, it has great cupcakes. The chocolate croissants are seriously buttery and delicious. On the warm drinks front, their chai tea latte and hot chocolate are also great. Love their whole grain bagels, and they also bake a bunch of different hearty breads. A very popular place, so it's not always easy to get a table. Their hours change between summer and winter so make sure you check to make sure they're open before you go.

“Favorite bakery in the Valley”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013

Once again, Northampton takes the cake (sorry) for the best bakery in the Valley. I remember the best baguettes ever from Susanne Naegeli, and the best pastries, tortes and German breads from Konditorei Normand, and with their passing, Woodstar offers the most delicious traditional cakes, eclairs and other pastries as well as wonderful brioche and breads. I have yet to stop and savor a coffee or tea on premises since this has become a stop for takeaway on the way home from Whole Foods and Trader Joe for the weekend shopping trip. May this remain for years to come!

“Chai Ginger Tea - Where was the Tea?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2013

Stopped in with friends prior to attending a concert at the Iron Horse. Ordered the Iced Chai Ginger Tea. Wanted to try it as menu indicated that it had the added bite of ginger and I like a chai tea that has a nice bite to it. There was the bite of ginger alright but there was no evidence of a chai tea in the drink. Instead it was milk and ginger with ice. If I had known I would have skipped this drink. Menu should read Gingered Milk Drink.

Also it was so loud inside the café that the atmosphere was not enjoyable - this is not the fault of the café, more the fault of patrons who do not know how to talk in an indoor voice.

“Famously pretty windows and fine baked goods, choice place to finish that essay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

Woodstar's gorgeous windows with light streaming through and hardwood tables with benches and chairs add to quirky Northampton atmosphere to create a nice space for working, chatting, or simply picking up a pastry or focaccia to go!
