Sunday brunch while visiting Noho on a very cold February day. Their emphasis on vegetarian friendly food and fresh fish was welcoming. I opted for the sandwich special, and I got the last one, a Brie, avocado, romaine, tomato on pesto focaccia, with a cup of fish chowder. My friend ordered the French challah toast. The soup was very very white. Lots of fish, a few pieces of carrot and that's it! Kind of bland and one note. The sandwich was disappointing. The bread was a bit thick, dry and cold. For me an immediate turn off. The Brie was sliced right out of the fridge, with none of that creamy unctuous ness of Brie. The avocado kept popping out with every bite. The Dijon was a tad strong and the bread, being dry, started falling apart before the sandwich was half over. The French toast was not thoroughly soaked, resulting in dry toast. Otherwise, it was as good as a novice cook might make at home. There was no garnish on the plate. A bit of fruit would have been welcome. The service was fine, the ambiance is nice, the location is convenient, being inside of Thornes.
