“If you are looking for paradise look no further.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2013

My husband treated me to a 50th birthday present that would stay with me forever.......a two week all inclusive holiday staying in a luxury Jacuzzi Water Villa. My birthday is in the month of May but having researched the weather climate / changes for the Maldives I opted to wait until the following January when the rainfall was much less expected....what can I say it was the holiday of a lifetime. We were met with sheer luxury from the moment we stepped onto the soft golden sand to the moment we left for home. One has a choice of simply unwinding and doing nothing but relaxing maybe taking in a treatment or two in the Spa ( defiantly recommended) to eating excellent food or one can venture further by spending two nights on a live aboard boat while sightseeing, shark fishing and being waited on hand and foot. It was a dream come true and one that will stay with me forever.

Room Tip: The saying is that you get what you pay for.....put it this way was had no complaints whatsoever.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

I spent a week at Meeru with my friend in November. first 2 days we had rain but the sun did show up the rest of the days. This resort was very nice, the island could do with a bit of lean up and more lighting and signs. We stayed at the water villa which was okay very standar. We spent days on Their Kamara, the staff on the boat were amazing and friendly. The food was great and the most of the staff were very friendly. Our holiday got ruined on the last day because one of the recepion staff was very rude. We were promised at the beginning of our stay we will recieve a bootle of champagne, day 5 and we never recieved anything so we assumed the bottle of prosecco in the mini bar was the drink so we drank it, then housekeeping left a note saying its been charged for. I called up reception and explained the confusion so the lady said not to worry she will take it off our bill. The day before we were leaving a lady called up to find out how our stay was so we explained we still havent recieved a bottle of champagne but itwas ok because we had the prosecco, she apologised and said she will send us a bottle anyway as complimentary and compensation for not recieving it, so we were very happy. When we went to check out the guy at the reception checked us out, only to be disturbed at breakfast to go and pay an outstanding bill. When we got to reception the gy at the reception pulled out an invoice of $20 to pay for the prosecco, so we explained the situation but he was still adamant we have to pay. The lady who told us she would take it off was also telling him our story that we dont owe aything but htis guy was not having any of it. He was adamant to keep us hostage there over $20 when our boat was leaving he wouldnt let us go. Then he got his manager on the phone who was very rude. I paid a lot of money to go to Meeru which was an average resort and to be treated like thieves on our last day was unacceptable. This really runied our trip I would not go back to Meeru ever again!

We spent 10 days in a Jacuzzi water villa in September 2013. This was the second part of our honeymoon having been to Dubai for 4 days. I can only describe Meeru as the most relaxing and beautiful place I have been. The island is gorgeous with white sandy beaches, clear blue sea and great facilities.
Our room was a good size and was kept clean throughout our stay by Ali who decorated the bed on arrival and our last night. We also received a congratulations card and fruit basket.
We dined in the adult only restaurant and the service and food was excellent. We had the same waiter Shiyam for the 10 days we were there and it was great as he really looked after us and took the time to ask how our day had been and suggesting activities to do on the island. He even knew what drinks we wanted with breakfast etc. The best service I have ever received!!
We spent time around the Dhoni bar / pool and the service there was also great. We went to the Hot rock restaurant for a meal which was lovely and the bar near there looked beautiful at night sitting on the beach. As we had a room over the sea we were happy to relax on our balcony and snorkel. We did the sunset cruise and house reef trip which were included in the AI package. We also took a fishing trip at extra cost but unfortunately failed to catch anything. I found the excursions and gift shops to be rather expensive but didn't really feel the need to do too many. We had book the Robinson Crusoe trip but as the weather was great reception happily cancelled this for us at no charge on the day.
There are lots of fish and reef sharks to see whilst snorkelling just off the beach or near our jacuzzi villa.
The only slightly negative thing would be that our jacuzzi didn't really work and although it got warm the water jets didn't really work. It was also very dark in the room as there are only dim lamps which made it hard to find things when getting ready to go out in the evening. But these are very minor things that didn't effect our holiday in any way.
We had a couple of overcast days with rain but it was still warm enough to swim etc.
Overall this is a great destination that I would highly recommend. I would love to go back!!

Room Tip: The 700 water villas were perfect and included the adult only restaurant. No matter where you are it...

Stayed for a week 27th October to 4th November 2013, and it was the best and most relaxing holiday ever. The food was fantastic and every day there was always something different. The beaches are beautiful and the swimming pools are lovely. Always plenty of sunbeds anytime of the day. The beaches and the colour of the sea are amazing better than the pictures in the brochures. The staff are lovely and very helpful and a room boy comes into your villa twice a day. There is always something to do on the island, my husband thought he might get a bit bored so this is why we chose a bigger island but he definitely didn't. There is a driving range , pitch and putt, tennis courts, table tennis. The bars at night are lovely with plenty of seating and some good entertainment. The free Wi-Fi was good. Would definitely recommend this island.

I've stayed at Meeru for a week at the end of August.

And i must say - what a paradise! all the people who don't like something about this island - get yourself checked.

Everything in this island was perfect from the moment we stepped off the boat. The staff is absolutely lovely food is very good indeed and knowing its catering for a very international guests the selection is very good and not repetitive. I've had friends who stayed in this island who share my opinion and if you will go to this island i can assure you that this resort is a perfect retreat. Prices are very reasonable (dont forget you are in Maldives) and every penny spent was worth it.

As i said - don't listen to bad reviews about this island, really hoping to come back some day!

Room Tip: Jacuzzi beach villas are amazing!

we stayed there a week in august, and it was the best vacation ever. the whole island is always in its best shape-cleaned throughout the day (but you don't actually notice them doing that), staff very friendly, food good and every day different, . even if you're more of a sports type-lots of sports available. all employes there know how to threat a customer.

we experienced the water jacuzzi villa and beach villa-both great, water villa is more than perfect-your own beach, looking at lots of colourfull exotic fishes from yout terase (in beach villa you only transfer yourself to the see, and the effect is the same :)), but also more expensive (we booked beach villa, but then therewas a mix up, so we stayed for half of our vacation there, and the other in beach villa).
it's perfect.

i usually don't return to same places twice, but with these resort, i'm thinking of revisiting it.

Room Tip: if you can afford it, try the water jacuzzi vila-there will be no regrets.
