“Terrible Mother's Day Experience”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2009

An hour and 20 minutes after our arrival I asked our server why our food had not arrived & she said she would check. After an hour and 45 minutes I asked for the manager and she said there was a mix up on one of the dinners and it had just been placed to cook. We have a party of six, which included a 7 year old and a 9 year old. To say that we had been patient was an understatement. The manager sent us complementary oysters to hold us over. I appreciate the effort, however oysters for a 7 & 9 year old , you must be kidding. We sent them back. Finally after almost two hours our dinners arrived. By the way, there were a number other people there, but there were also empty seats. The restaurant was not overburdened. At this point the kids were off the wall & we just wanted out of there. We asked for the check & they brought a dessert which thay said was complementary. We said we just want to leave, please give us the bill. It goes on from there, but needlees to say we would strongly recommend not going to this restaurant. Service is extremely lacking.

The idea of an old church converted into a restaurant in of itself is appealing. The Mission Oak Grill was a nice surprise! The lighting was perfectly ambiant, the wine list phenominal (I want to take it home) - I love the great selection of California wines from afforable ($30) to the great Far Niete ($200+) - (the by the glass list wasn't as impressive, but understandably so) - the menu offered a nice selection of steaks and seafood with a good moderate price. I had the hanger steak which was seasoned and tastey. I will definitely check out the bar with the half price apps during happy hour time!
