We did a two night getaway from NYC and stayed at the Thayer house. The grounds are lovely - very isolated and really peaceful. The food alone is worth the trip! The inn keepers were lovely and so was the resident pooch. There is no cell phone service but there is WiFi. There's a pool with lounge chairs, DVDs and books to borrow and our room was large and rustic. I enjoyed the trip but do wish the locations was a bit closer to more of the central towns like Stockbridge and Great Barrington. I would return again.
