“Yummy carryout”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

We just attended a family event in which the host and hostess had gotten four carryout entrees from Sweet Basil. Each tray was designed to serve five and were various types of pasta, pasta with meat and pasta with poultry. Each was excellent. There also was some excellent Italian bread as an accompaniment.

The entrees were more than ample and each was excellent.

It made for a trouble free family event with yummy leftovers!

“Spectacular Italian Cuisine - especially if you like garlic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

Sweet Basil is really a gem in the Metrowest area, with exceptional quality Italian cuisine and incredibly creative dishes. The portions are enormous and universally delicious, though they tend to be a bit on the "garlicy" side of the spectrum. Lunch is a great value, if you happen to be in the Needham area. It is also much easier to get a table at lunchtime, and the food is just as delicious as dinner.

Totally charming place- could not have been better for a mom/daughter lunch- the food is wonderful, portions very generous, and attentive service- simply a great place to dine! I am sure dinner is just as good if not better!!

“Solid for any occasion”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

A fantastic, unpretentious spot for a business lunch or a casual evening meal.

The menu offers a little something for every taste. From the well plated salads to the unique summer soups to the fantastic mussels - everything is continental Italian and comes to the table with a smile and not a lot of fanfare.

What struck me the most about the restaurant was the server. She made every effort to assure we were comfortable and well attended to - but provided us with plenty of space to drive into our business discussion without ever wanting for anything.

Sweet Basil is the perfect place to relax and enjoy well prepared and beautifully presented Italian bistro fare. Oh - and well have great French fries!

“Still The Best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2014

With great food, a creative menu and the friendliest service on the planet, it is hard to find a reason not to eat at Sweet Basil every night (except that it can be very difficult to get a table). Despite eating there for >10 years, I still have yet to be unhappy with a meal. Everything in the menu is good - you can do pin the tail on the donkey when choosing your food and be happy every time. And, I defy anyone to find better pesto anywhere!
