Just to keep things in context, this review is relative to options in Boston and surrounding suburbs, not NYC. That said, Very Good is a fair rating for the Chicken Soup, Chopped Liver, Pastrami, Corned Beef, Potato Salad, Cole Slaw, pickles and table service.

The sandwiches were served warm and the portion was quite good. The only disappointment was the brisket. It was dry and even with gravy it was pretty much inedible. The good news is that everything else was so good that it really did not matter.

Great, enthusiastic and attentive service. Food quality is excellent. Portions are generous. Atmosphere is just what I would expect in this type of NY-style deli, although slightly more upscale. The full liquor liscence is a bonus! I like that they have a counter for singles (or couples) to utilize - this throwback is missing in most eateries and is really nice for people dining alone.

If you are a fan of Zaftig's in Brookline - they opened a second store in Natick (next to Christmas Tree and Dick's Sports). Great space, lots of booths and counter service. The menu is the similar with breakfast served all day. Try the Romanian pastrami or one of the other deli sandwiches - huge portion, great quality. A metro west must visit.

Went to Zaftig's for lunch. By all appearances this is a NY Deli, the counter, the menu, the high energy and noise from the dining room. When you look a little closer they just miss the mark. Our food was good. Our table has greek salads, rueben sandwich all were ok, nothing to rave about. Service was prompt and attentive. The dining room can be noisy during prime time.
