“Primavera Ristorante-Best Moderately Priced Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2013

Walking in to Primavera Ristorante, you feel like you are dining in Italy. After reading the menu, you still feel like you are dining in Italy. The food at Primavera is always reliably great. The menu is creative and every meal is made to order. The most difficult decision is what to order. There is something for everyone. The menu offers everything from sirloin steak to homemade pastas with options. The all important red sauces are rich and delicious, and the other sauces are unique and well seasoned.
I ordered off the specials menu which offered reasonably priced entrees that included soup (pasta fagioli) and desert. I had chicken parm over lasagna. My date had a huge perfectly cooked sirloin steak. We each ofered a Caesar salad complete with the option of anchovies. The wine list is extensive and had reasonably priced excellent wines.
The atmosphere is beautiful. It is my favorite local romantic place to dine, although it is also my favorite place to have a quiet dinner with a friend or host a celebration. My server was A+ in every way. another point about Primavera is they offer a family dinner take out menu which includes salad, bread and a large tray with an entree. It is the best deal around and better than anything I could whip up to feed a small crowd. On Sunday they offer a fantastic Sunday brunch. It is my favorite local quality restaurant around and guaranteed to please any palette, offers great service in a lovely, quiet atmosphere. Very affordable for what you get.

“Brunch”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

The Sunday Brunch is a nice treat once every 6 months to a year. We have had both good experiences and bad experiences here. The initial greeting has a lot to be desired as they make you uncomfortable if you didn't make a reservation (I suggest they state this in their advertising/coupons). The selection is quite good but for the room they have the brunch in, it would be nice if they could spread things out a bit more. For the most part, the food is very good, but every time there seems to be one item that is not so good (agreed upon with others dining). The deserts are very tasty. We have been here for weddings and they do a very nice job.

“Poor Management, Awful Experience”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

My fiance and I were truly excited to try Primavera on NYE this year. We thought that, like any other well-managed restaurant, Primavera would have knowingly hired extra staff to compensate for a booked house on New Years Eve ... incorrect. We waited for our 7:30 reservation for nearly 15 minutes at the bar. We enjoyed a great cocktail but the hostess "forgot" about us at the bar and we had to go searching for her. It didn't get much better when we got to our table. We waited for FORTY FIVE minutes to receive our appetizer, their claim to fame, the squash ravioli. You could tell they were well-made but one huge problem, they were stone cold. When I wait for 45 minutes for ravioli they better be warm, in my opinion.

Then we had a nice leisurely hour-and-a-half wait for our dinner. During this time we had two cocktails and the waitress was nice enough to comp a round of drinks because she felt so badly for our wait. Once we got our food we were no longer hungry because, in all honestly, we were ticked off because we'd waited for so long. No one from management came around to apologize ... they left that to our poor waitress who likely had 15 other tables while we were there.

To cap off the night we just took our whole meal home (which took an additional 20 minutes). We left our waitress a great tip because she was clearly doing the best she could. It's not hard to recognize that New Years Eve is going to be a busy, packed house. It's simple front-end management, you see how many reservations you have and then plan accordingly. They teach you this in restaurant management 101.

We were so upset with how the night turned out and it could have been made better by a simple "we're sorry" from a manager or staff member other than our waitress. We will not be trying Primavera again which is too bad because I've heard their food is decent.

“Just ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

The restaurant has had many changes over the years. Recently they have added an outdoor eating area which will be nice in the warm weather. We hadn't been there in a long time and went back about 3 months ago. The food was outstanding and the live entertainment made it a fun place to be.
Our last visit wasn't such a good experience. From the bar service to the food it was just disappointing.Sitting at the bar I observed the bartender sticking his nose into a carton of milk, making a face and then pouring a glass for a child then pouring the rest of it down the drain. We ordered an appitizer to share Mamma's Piatto Misto. It is a mix of salad, cheese, proscuitto and other chef's favorites. I'm not sure what the chef's favorite was but it was frozen solid, even the cheese was on the frozen side. The people sitting next to us also had this and commented about "what is this frozen thing" A few tables over the customer's were upset about there order and left unhappy.
Maybe it was just an off night for them because the experience before was much better. I will give them another shot wonce the warm weather comes and hope things will be better.
