We came here in the month of June when we stayed in Menemsha for our annual get-away.
This was a short walk from our cottage at Menemsha Inn. This is also a stone's throw away from the public beach.
I was initially contemplating on going to the competitor nearby, because it seemed to have more publicity than Menemsha Public Market.
Im pretty sure we made the right decision.
The lobsters were chunky and juicy and fat that they were so satisfying. There were a variety of selections and prices were affordable. We ordered 3 lobsters for the husband, the daughter, and myself. Luckily for us, it was a free-cooking day, otherwise, we would have paid $1/lb.
Stanley (I think he was the owner) was accomodating. There was this friendly girl who worked in the counter, too, who was very gracious and nice. She had us taste their samples of lobster and quahog bisque, which were very tasty.
Since it was June, it was still a bit chilly outside so we didn't sit out by the water. They, however, have a small area, where customers can sit by the water and enjoy their meals. Its nothing fancy, but rather low-key... appropriate for this beautiful fishing village.
Besides the lobsters, they also have crabs, variety of fish, and seafood sandwiches.
I'd recommend this place to anyone coming to Menemsha or the Vineyard.
