“Surprised, in a good way!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

Haven't stayed at HI for many many years because they all seemed to be so outdated and dumpy! This HI however has changed my mind. We had a spur of the moment trip to Boston and ended picking this particular hotel because of T.A. ratings and our time on the road, it seems that they got it right. The room was large, clean, and didn't smell (musty, smoky, or some other funky thing which seems to be more and more a usual hotel thing no matter which one you pick). The pool looked clean (didn't have time to use), and there are 2 treadmills in the workout room. The staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. Breakfast is not included in the price and there wasn't a mini fridge in the room. If you need something printed, there is a computer and printer for use.

Room Tip: we were in room 403, was nice and quite even tho it was right next to the elevator. large room, quie...

We stayed here as a hockey team in August. Rooms were nice, beds comfy and staff friendly. At 10pm, the good security staff made sure all the hockey teams (there were 6 I believe) were in their rooms and quiet. Absolutely no issues while we were there. I'd recommend this hotel for sure. Special thanks to Megan for seeing to it we were all set for a great stay. Thank you!

Room Tip: We stayed in a suite. 2 nice sized rooms, kitchen, etc. Very nice.

Stoops here on our way to Maine. We were traveling with my 83 year old mother. The front desk was very helpful to get us in an appropriate room on the first floor. Yes there were kids here for a tourney but didn't bother us the price was right the rooms were very clean. I was reading some of the complaints of other travelers why do you need a closet? Really. If your in the area good stay at a good price and kid friendly even though I wasn't traveling with kids

While traveling the most important detail of a hotel is cleanliness. This hotel did not disappoint. Our room was very clean, and what's more, the air conditioning unit worked at maximum capacity without fail. Beds were comfortable and clean and the room smelled clean. For an average $90.00 per night hotel it is acceptable. Ice machines ran out of ice on both floors..The hotel needs to upgrade their bath towels as they were thin and small. Excellent, easy location immediately off of Route 495 with options in both directions for groceries, fast food, Pharmacy, gasoline. We arrived earlier than allowed check-in time but front desk was accommodating and quick having little to no wait. The restaurant was closed during the day on Sunday without even room service options, however it is sited close to nearby restaurants. Grabbing Monday breakfast to go was a simple egg sandwich that was dry and tasteless, my husband had an egg white omelet that was greasy, flat and his words, disgusting. We did not use the pool. The hotel is fine for quick overnight stays and is in a safe (set up high away from the main road) but high traffic location.

The hotel was ok. The place was FULL of 10 yr old lacross playing boys who ran the halls and were everywhere. They were loud and up all night. Hotel security did patrol the halls, but they would pop back out as soon as they were gone. They should have warned us when we made the reservation, we would have definitely chosen someplace else to stay. Since it was the 4th of July we could not find rooms anywhere else.
The hotel was also very difficult to get into as it is an immediate left turn as you exit and the traffic behind you coming off the exit will plow into you unless you go up and make a u turn further into town. This is obviously a common problem because the businesses up the street have signs not allowing you to turn around in their lots. Also, they wanted $14 for a buffet breakfast that consisted of yogurt and fruit. We went into town and found a lovely place to eat breakfast during our stay.

My daughter had a figure skating camp at the nearby New England Sports Center, so we stayed for 2 nights. Apparently there was a lacrosse tournament going on at the same time, so the hotel was filled with very loud boys who were running amok. The pool isn't that large so it was overcrowded. Parents were sitting out in the hallways late at night drinking and talking outside my door. The parents were very comfortable- they brought coolers, six packs, bottles of alcohol and even barbecued in the parking lot. They had it down to a science, which made me think this is a frequent occurrence at this hotel. I also saw a sign that said "no hockey sticks allowed in the building" so there are probably lots of hockey tournaments as well. As far as the actual hotel goes, the hallways and elevators were extremely hot, as was our room when we arrived. We preordered room service and it never came (we waited a half hour and then had to leave for camp) so the kids ended up eating breakfast from a vending machine. There is no fridge in the room. Positives were that the staff was friendly and the restaurant/bar was good. We ate there both nights. The food was good, and they had free meals for the kids with an adult purchasing.

Room Tip: We were told that our side of the hotel is hotter- room 327.

Stayed here for a lacrosse tournament and while the location was decent, the property itself was somewhat dated. It was extremely hot so the ice machines had a hard time keeping up but that is not unexpected. The water pretty in the sinks and shower was mediocre and toiletries where very limited. The hotel had very strict rules about kids with mini-sticks/lacrosse sticks in the hallway to the point where they had a security guard sitting on the main floor by the elevator intimating the kids whenever they came out. I would not suggest this hotel as a suitable team location as they were not that accommodating. The rooms themselves were decent but the hotel charges for refrigerators which other properties usually provide for free. Service was decent for the limited encounters that we had with staff. The pool is very dated and somewhat small and dim. When exiting I495 from the south, be careful as the hotel entrance is not really marked and is immediately after exiting the ramp on the north side of the road. Overall, this hotel is ok however some of the other properties on the west side of I495 look much newer.
