“Maybe its time has come and gone.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

My family has been going to this restaurant for 20 years. It used to be a terrific place for breakfast, and well worth the wait on weekends. Sadly, it has gone downhill over the last few years. Our recent visit convinced me that we won't be quick to return. Breakfast here is not inexpensive, and the food is no longer worth the prices. And service was well below average. Had to ask 3 times for water. Waited 15 minutes after asking for coffee refills. When the food came, there was no butter served with the waffles, the eggs were cold and overcooked, and we got rye toast instead of the wheat we asked for. We saw quite a few people waiting to be seated, although there were several empty tables. Either the staff was mostly new, or they now have trouble retaining staff. Bottom line - it's time to find a new place for breakfast.

“Service poor, food good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

Went for breakfast. Was NOT greeted when we walked in door. Instead waitress, who was on a personal call, turned her back on us and continued her conversation. At one point she picked up a menu to fan herself. I guess talking on the phone works up a sweat! As she was fanning herself she almost swatted a customer who was leaving in the eye. No apology. Other customers started to pile in and she kept right on talking. Finally after 4-5 minutes she hung up and acted as if she was surprised to see is standing there. Finally seated and ordered. Food was delicious. Then our waitress spilled a small glass of milk all over my lap. My 8 year old nephew quickly gave me his napkin while the waitress stood there until I said "can you get some napkins please" I was covered in milk! She made a half hearted apology and turned and walked away. Couldn't believe it. Did not offer to remove anything from our menu. Will not be going back. Owner best make sure servers are treating customers well or he will begin to lose buisness.

“Nicw place for dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013

We stopped by for dinner after visiting a fiddle / art fest up the road. The place was not too full. The service excellent. The menu basic American food. Reasonable prices and good sized portions.

The meals were well prepared (I had the grilled brat wurst and mashed potatoes and my spouse liked her ribeye steak with baked potato). The owner came by to check on our meal. This is an okay place for kids. A few booths have a view of the pond outside.

“Condition of Restaurant”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

It's evident by the condition of the restaurant that the owners no longer take an interest. The rug is filthy and the general overall condition of the restaurant is in disrepair.. Too bad, it's was always a great place to go...

Makes you wonder what the kitchen looks like

“Good, basic food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

Food is very good. As is the case with all restaurants, prices have increased. Fun to feed the ducks or visit the adjoining candy store.
