“Home away from home!”

My husband and I were visiting our daughter in Salem for Easter and decided to try a bed and breakfast. We were more than pleased with our choice of Fox Pond. Ted was a gracious host even adjusting breakfast for my husband who can't have cheese while I was still able to enjoy his wonderful quiche! We stayed in the Cloud Room which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was comfortably appointed with relaxing chairs and a large screen TV. We especially loved the bathroom with its tiled shower, painted porcelain sink and heat lamp! The whole house shows Ted's meticulous care to fine details and design. In fact, we got inspired to redesign a few things at our own home!Ted showed us the back yard which he said was "our space." My husband who works in landscaping could really appreciate all the work Ted has put into the yard to make it such an inviting space for his guests. A trail from the backyard leads down to a walking path on conservation property which we totally enjoyed for our morning walk. The location was not only quiet and peaceful but it is great for anyone wanting to explore both Salem and Marblehead and be just minutes away. Thanks Ted for a great weekend!

I grew up in this area...what a wonderful surprise to discover this exceptional Bed and Breakfast near our family. The setting is magnificent, the house is warm, beautiful, comfortable and very inviting. Ted has put his heart and soul into making it feel like your home. His service is impeccable; the pride he takes in his B and B is evident everywhere and in everything he does, including his warmth. Ted will go out of his way to accomodate any of your needs. The rooms are so comfortable you will lack for nothing. It is easily accessible to historical sites, restaurants , and even downtown Boston. Yet it is located in an upscale, suburban neighborhood in historical Marblhead, a great town to explore. You can't help but want to return as we do!

I can see how this would be a lovely spot for vacationers or the sporadic romantic getaway... but my stay was for a week of local business. The setting is beautiful, woods and pond in the back with a large cobblestone patio for late breakfasts in the summer... nestled in the heart of an established upscale residential community, so privacy and quiet are guaranteed. Less than 5 minutes drive to quaint downtown Marblehead. Breakfasts were generous, delicious, and served to meet our schedule. Every single architectural and decorating detail has been considered - every marble surface, comfortable armchair, etc, is perfect. Very comfortable mattress, not a single dust bunny to be found in the whole building. Mid-week rates were fantastic - rivaled even the most aggressively-priced chain hotels. This is one more experience that will have me forever seeking local B&Bs for business travel, instead of the same old hotels.

We had business in Danvers, MA for one week. Being a business traveler I tire of the same old hotel experience and was excited to hear that we would be staying at a B & B. Fox Pond B & B was exceptional in all aspects. Our host, Ted, was gracious, attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable, and provided us with whatever we needed. His recommendations for restaurants were spot on. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was especially nice with all of the attention to details that are nice to have away from home. The breakfast in the morning was hearty, delicious and provided a good start to our day. At the end of our business day it was nice to look forward to staying at Fox Pond instead of the Large Chain Hotel. Now when I travel for business, I will look to stay at B&B's and if I ever get to work in the area again Fox Pond is #1 on my list.

This absolutley charming warm and inviting B&B was a wonderful experience for my husband and I. The bed was so comfortable that I had my best night's sleep in months, the room was beautiful as was the whole house. Ted was a gracious host and obviously takes great pride in his B&B. There was a fire in the fireplace in the dining room with breakfast. We can't wait to go back! Friends of ours came with us and rented another room there at the same time. We had a great day exploring the town of Marblehead - it's wonderful unique shops and restaurants. We had lunch right on the water downtown. The antique homes and quaint little side streets of the downtown and right on the water - Marblehead harbor - were something to behold. We are talking about our next trip back to do it again!

Room Tip: All the rooms are quiet and wonderfully decorated. The Canton suite is bigger with a little sitting...

My husband and I stayed at Fox Pond B&B this past Saturday night. This was the second time we stayed here and we were not disappointed. Ted's B&B is a lovely getaway. We were warmly welcomed by Ted when we arrived late Saturday evening and he showed us to our room- the Canton Suite. It is a tastefully decorated suite with a comfy sitting area and four poster bed. The best part about the room however, is the bathroom. The floor is heated, there is a jacuzzi bath tub and a beautiful Chinese decorated sink. There are various lights and switches and you can play around with to dim the room and give it atmosphere. We overslept in the very comfortable bed and had a good breakfast in the morning. This is the best place we have stayed in the area and recommend it to discerning guests. We enjoyed our stay and plan to return.

We have been repeat guests at Fox Pond, most recently between xmas and New Year's 2011. I am a "header" born and bred, and now live with my family in Maryland and come back for visits. Ted's B&B is a wonderful home away from home. The rooms and grounds are terrific, and Ted is a friendly, gracious host. We have stayed in the Cloud room (in the front) and in the Canton Suite and found both to be great.

We were surprised (and dismayed) to find that the B&B's ratings had slipped somewhat due to some recent reviews and with which we could not disagree more. It is important to recognize Fox Pond for what it is, a homey B&B, and what it is not, a hotel. If you are looking for a hotel or a more "hotel like" inn, this is not the spot for you. If you are looking for a true B&B experience, you could not do better. We found the rooms to be clean and well furnished, and the breakfasts to be good.

Do yourself a favor and give this B&B a try during your next visit to Marblehead.
