“Perfect B&B in Marblehead”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

My wife and I were lucky enough to get the last room available on the 4th of July and absolutely loved our stay. The Marblehead Inn is exactly what we envisioned when thinking about a picturesque New England Bed and Breakfast. Karlene and John couldn't be more gracious hosts. We'd love to go back.

We were traveling and were very tired. We didn't have a reservation, but they were so wonderful to provide us with a room. The room was great and the whirlpool tub was so nice after being on the road for hours. A great place to stay for a night or a week or longer. Wonderful people!

The hosts, Karlene and John, welcome their guests
With great hospitality. Arriving late one night, our hosts greeted us with snacks, coffee and tea while they were cutting fresh fruit for the next morning"s breakfast. Gluten free baked goods were available, too! Our 1st floor room was lovely with a very comfortable king sized bed.
It was so nice at Marblehead that we returned to the Inn later in our trip!

Thank you, Estelle. We enjoyed having you and your family here and we appreciate you taking the time to let us know how much you all enjoyed your stay at the inn. It was a lovely surprise to have you come back for another stay just a few days after your first. We're looking forward to seeing you, David, and Sarah again very soon.

This was our 3rd stay at the Marblehead Inn and we had been pleased with the Inn in the past. Thus, the reason for our return visits. So, it was disappointing to learn that when a medical event occurred, causing us to shorten our stay by 1 day, it was more important to the manager to keep our money rather than to keep us as happy guests. A bed & breakfast relies on repeat business and positive word of mouth from it's guests.

What should have been an anniversary trip to remember became one that we would rather forget because of the lack of consideration exhibited by the manager of the Marblehead Inn considering our circumstances.

Debbie, I’m sorry you were disappointed. And, I’m puzzled and surprised by your negative review. My understanding of our conversation about shortening your stay was that you were in agreement that my offer of a credit applied to your next stay was very fair. Then when we spoke again, as you were checking out, you said that you had enjoyed your stay. If I had known that the issue hadn’t been resolved to your satisfaction, I would have been happy to have continued the conversation. We work hard to provide all of our guests with the best possible customer service and apologize that we were not able to meet your expectations this time.

What a wonderful, peaceful, quiet three days we spent at Marblehead Inn. The hospitality was gracious and our host and hostess were always ready to offer assistance and suggestions. The home lovely and spotless. We were in a downstairs room with spotless new bathroom.

Breakfast was wonderful. We will certainly be back!!

Room Tip: King size bed on ground floor.

Thank you for the wonderful review. We're glad that you were able to enjoy some quiet time at the inn in between exploring the north shore area. Our staff works hard to keep the inn clean and beautiful and we appreciate you letting us know that you noticed. We hope you'll be back for another visit sometime soon.

The Marblehead is a hidden gem! My room was so comfortable and Karlene & John treated me like family and attended to my every need. Amelia Earhart stayed in this beautiful Victorian house. Very reasonable and great breakfast with super coffee and delicious locally made breads and muffins. I'd definitely come back!

Lovely, clean, cheerful staff. We'll come back to the Marblehead Inn. We were greeted by a staff member when we arrived, who showed us our rooms and the dining area. We needed an extra pack and play for our granddaughter and one was provided immediately. The hide a bed was made up for our son as soon as requested. The breakfast was good and we appreciated the snacks.

Room Tip: We had adjoining rooms with a suite for our extended family.
