“Wonderful location. Friendly staff”

We usually stay in Hilton's or Marriotts so our expectations are a bit different. I have a pet peeve about B&Bs or Motels that install flat screen tv's and don't have HD reception. Just me ! After 3 weeks and a few thousand miles we are heading back to Callawassie island in SC. This was our least comfortable bed in our travels thru the Maritimes and New England. Not bad just the least comfortible
Would have liked the option of a full breakfast. For the cost , I expected more

Thank you, Gary. We're glad that you and Barbara enjoyed your stay, but sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your bed and breakfast. Our mattresses are on the firm side and, as you can see in other reviews, most of our guests love our beds. We have all new Gardner mattresses, known as one of the finest quality mattresses and box springs on the east coast and all of New England. Many of our guests have said they liked them so much they want to buy one for their homes.
If by full breakfast you mean, bacon and eggs and similar items, I wish you would have mentioned it while you were here so that I could have explained that, by law, we're not allowed to cook for guests and so are unable to offer these things. We do our best to compensate for this by offering a full Continental breakfast and to have some different items every day in addition to the staples.
Our Daily Continental Breakfast consists of: Coffee / Variety of Teas / Juice, 6 Types of fresh fruit: Bananas, Apples, Oranges, 2 types of Melons, Strawberries, Various flavors of yogurt including soy and lactose free options, 4 Varieties of Cold Cereal,a variety of Instant Oatmeal flavors, Banana, Blueberry, Cinnamon, Cappuccino & Pistachio Muffins, OR Coffee Cake OR Danish, 4 flavors of Bagels: Plain, Multigrain, Sesame, Multi-berry, 2 Breads: Cinnamon Raisin AND either Lemon Blueberry OR Apple Streusel OR French Toast, plus English Muffins and Gluten free breads and muffins. We also offer Butter, Peanut Butter, Nutella, Cream Cheese, Strawberry Preserves, Seedless Red Raspberry Jam, Sweet Orange Marmalade.
Thank you again for your comments. We appreciate your feedback.

We stayed there for 2 nights it was great to relax after the long flight with a cup of tea and snacks (great cake by the way). We walked into town in the evening and had a choice of bars and restaurants, the buildings and harbour are just great. I would recomend Marblehead to anybody.

I recently traveled to Marblehead for a family wedding with my aged and mobility challenged parents. While planning for this trip, I discovered that the historic Old Town area of Marblehead, while pedestrian friendly and charming, is lacking in rooms that can accommodate a disabled traveler. The Marblehead Inn is just a mile west of Old Town and may have the only handicap accessible room in the area. Suite 4 was perfect for my parents. There was a parking area within a few steps of the door and no steps into the building. The breakfast area was just a few steps down the hall from their room. The bathroom was large and had bars for the toilet. The only challenge was the tub/shower which had plenty of grips and bars but required a big step over the tub. The sitting room was spacious with a sofa and comfortable chair. My mother did have some trouble getting out of the chair (she uses a lift chair at home) but when I mentioned this to Karlene, she was very gracious and willing to move a more appropriate chair into the room. The innkeeper's Karlene and John were very approachable and friendly and worked to assure that my parents were comfortable during our stay.

We stayed here for 4 nights and every breakfast was different...AND lots of snacks, tea, and chocolate anytime!!! The hosts were great and printed out any special info for what was going on in Marblehead that day. We also enjoyed visiting with other guests as we enjoyed our breakfast. Marblehead is a great little treasure...we loved kayaking its beautiful coastline and learning its incredible history.

We arrived with a nail in our tire Karlene and John were super helpful in helping us get it fixed. They also were very informative on what we could do in town during our stay. The room was very large and clean. Marblehead is a beautiful yachting town. I would definately stay there again.

We stayed at the Marblehead Inn, along with my Mother and Sister. We found the place to be elegant with beautiful woodwork throughout the house. The rooms were very spacious along with a small kitchenette and livingroom suite. My Mother and Sister shared a room with two full beds, which made there stay very comfortable. The hosts were very sweet and with the right amount of hospitality. While exploring Marblehead and Salem, it was so nice to come back to out air-condition room, that was very quiet and felt tucked away from other guests. All the coffee and tea on the first floor that you could want with fresh baked goodies too. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Room Tip: The top floor was quiet.

I recently arranged for a guest to stay at the Inn. She was arriving after the Inn hours. When we delivered her to her room, all was in order as we were told it would be. The outside area is well lighted, as well as the stairwells. We found the keys with ease and she was pleased with the accommodations. The staff and Innkeepers are very accommodating and friendly.
This is a major improvement over two years ago when we had guests stay there and the billing was all mixed up.
I would recommend The Marblehead Inn as a very acceptable choice.
