“2 dishes; 2 distinctly different experiences”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2014

In my quest for great Italian food (Naples spoiled me!) I had high hopes when Cibo Matto came to town. I'm a believer in eating food 'as close to its source' as possible, so the fact that they grow a lot of their own produce and herbs was a big draw for me (I've seen their garden and it's impressive). So I was confounded by the chewy (not in a good way) eggplant in the roasted eggplant sandwich I ordered. It was as though they'd used the 'end piece' for lack of a better way to explain it. Yuck.
But turning to the herb encrusted goat cheese salad, I was delighted. It was a great combination of textures and flavors with fresh greens and creamy goat cheese. Their own baked bread was a great side, with just the right crunch in the crust and chew in the bread. I'm writing off the eggplant as a fluke and saying the pluses outweigh the minuses here.

“Enjoyable al fresco dining with tasty specials”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2014

Enjoy al fresco dining, albeit on abusy street, with some very tasty specials. Service was good. Will definitely be back.

“Very excellent lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2014 credit card Amex Card Member Review

Went there for lunch and the food and service were wonderful. I think they should spend some money sprucing up the place though. I sat on a bench seat that was very torn...didn't make a good first impression.

“Excellent Al Fresco Dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2014

Fresh ingredients, solid service, good wine selection and outdoor dining make this a highly competitive destination in this area. The shredded Brussels sprouts salad, with lemon vinaigrette, strawberries and walnuts was unique and delicious - great summer selection. The crab cake appetizer and cod and chicken Marsala entrees also got thumbs way up. Reasonable prices for what you get, too. Our only disappointment was to learn that that this place has been here for four years.

“Great food and fantastic drinks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2014

We have come here for dinner a number of times. Despite what others have written about the hostess, the wait staff we have had has been very attentive and friendly. The food is great and we like the creativity of the drink menu. We particularly like the veal piccata and the beet and goat cheese salad. It is a good place for lunch too.
