“Very very good indeed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012 via mobile

I suppose this review is a bit biased as my nephew is the sous chef here. Husband and I were invited here for dinner by my sister in law on a Sunday and we were both pleasantly surprised by this place. I should add we are from England and it was a change to have a meal without fries. This is a very good restaurant with reasonable prices. Attentive service and well presented food. I would recommend the cod with pumpkin risotto and cinnamon ice cream. Would definitely go back.

“Top notch ALWAY”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012

Top notch food, beverage and service ALWAYS! We love going here to celebrate any occasion and recently dined for a birthday. The atmosphere is fantastic and the staff works hard to make your dining experience the best. As I have written before, I continue to highly recommend The Blue Ox.

“Superb Choice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012 via mobile

The Blue Ox is a gem. The food is extraordinary, the service excellent, and the atmosphere is good. We like the flatbread and lobster taco appetizers, both the filet special and the bass, and the desserts.(The chocolate layer cake is terrific). There is ample parking next door at a bank-The Blue Ox has worked out an arrangement under which its patrons can park in the bank lot.

“Doing things chefs in Boston arent even pulling off”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2012

I go to the Blue Ox at least twice a month. The food is exceptional. Its not just good because its outside of Boston, its just awesome in general. I deem my pallet pretty advanced and have eaten around the world. What Matt and the staff are doing here is something special. The wine list is something you would expect at a 5 star restaurant in NYC. The bar manager, Charlie is extremely knowledgable and can pair a glass of wine with anything on the menu. Next time you go, ask Charlie to pick your meal and match it with a great wine. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be the oysters or the brie. Enjoy!

“If you are in New England, you gotta try the Fish!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2012

It seems that any of their fish is delicious, the Cod, Swordfish and Lobster. I had Pan roasted codfish served on saffron risotto, spring onions, watercress and fennel salad with aged balsamic. It was fantastic! The cod was fresh, moist and the portion was generous. I started with fresh lobster tail that had been taken off the boat that morning. Really, does it get any better than that?? I also tasted the swordfish, it was cooked to perfection and again Fresh. This is a happening place that the local foodies found out about so make a reservation. 41/2 mmm's out of 5
