I’ve been here since August 3rd and have to check out tomorrow. I hate to go! I found this hotel on Trip Advisor and reading the new reviews find they cover most everything. The staff is unbelievably courteous and helpful. It has been a terrific place to stay if you have to work in the Lexington, Concord, or even Bedford area. It is also a great location for tourist activities.
I would like to add to the current reviews. The social hour is Monday through Thursday from 6 pm to 7:30 pm. Sometimes on Wednesdays they cook hamburgers and hotdogs on the patio grill. Breakfast is available from 6:30 am until 9:30 am during the week and 7 am to 10 am on the weekends. (There were a couple of weekends when the hotel was full and breakfast seemed like a mad house compared to the week days.) This hotel is also pet friendly. The hotel has a shuttle running on the weekends that will take you to Burlington Mall or Alewife Train Station.
They are working on the shower problem. I think they are finished with the first floor installing a rubber gasket on the bottom of the door. I have just been laying a towel down. It didn’t seem like a big deal because there are so many great things about this hotel.
I agree about this hotel being hard to spot from Rt 128! It’s exit 30A and it helps to look for the signs for Minuteman National Historical Park and Hanscom Air Field. The Park literally begins across the street. If you miss the exit traveling south, take the SECOND exit to come back around or you will be taking a scenic drive!
I don’t know about the comment about the air conditioning blowing over the bed. I have been on the 4th floor the whole time and my air conditioner blows the blind on my window, not the bed. Also I haven’t had anyone walking over me! I have heard people talking in the hall.
Here are some tips:
Concord has good tourist things to do including the historical center which has shops and several restaurants. I liked Walden Grille the best. http://waldengrille.com/ The Old North Bridge is a nice walk from either side. Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge has a great trail for walking or running. Minuteman National Historical Park has a 5.5 mile trail good for walking, biking or running. There is a Rite Aid in Concord but no grocery store.
Lexington has lots of restaurants on Massachusetts Avenue as well as a CVS. The CVS has large photos from the past of what that strip used to look like in their windows. My favorite restaurant there is Not Your Average Joes. http://www.notyouraveragejoes.com/locations/# It’s near the Starbucks. There is parking in the back for this strip. There is also a Walgreens in Lexington and a small Stop & Shop grocery store. The Super Stop & Shop is in Bedford which is one exit north.
