This 200 year old Inn provides a view of the past. The decor, the antique collections, the dim lights and the spacious rooms place us in the gracious living of the past. And yet our hosts, Peggy and Dick, are clearly TODAY!

my stay was made all the more enjoyable by the warmth of my welcome from Peggy the owner , room was spacious , overlooking the private woodland at the rear .Ideally situated for all the facilities of this charming town ,nothing was too much trouble breakfast most enjoyable providing a real chance to talk to other guests .
Peggy is a cat lover , there are numerous antiques & collectables accumulated over a period of time - several featuring cats her cats add personality , leading their own relaxed , languid lifestyle in what must be ideal surroundings .
There are several , shaded terraces , verandahs etc where you can spend a couple of hours reading or watching the abundant wildlife in the grounds .
All told , my stay was very enjoyable & relaxing - exactly what I wanted .
I will definately return in the not too distant future .

We've been staying at Walker House every summer for approximately 18 years. It's one our favorite places to visit. We look forward to seeing the owners each year as well as staying in their lovely inn.

We stayed at the Walker House for 3 nights. Peggy, the owner, was warm, friendly and very hospitable. We chose the Walker House for its location and because it allowed dogs. On seeing the room we were mildly disappointed. There was a hole in the ceiling in the bathroom from a prior leak and the doorknob on the closet hung. The first night to say that the bed creaked doesn't do it justice. It was loud every time either of us moved. It was also
very uncomfortable - so much so that we considered leaving the next morning. We stayed
because of our Havanese.

The rooms are large, the people are very nice and helpful but the bottom line is that the price is absurd for such a run down place. The bed linens are polyester, the towels smelled of mildew, The plaster was falling down in the bath, the plumbing was mickey mouse, the breakfast was completely uninspiring although ripe melon was served, there was no soundproofing between our room and the next, and while we were there other guests were apparantly chased out of their room by a swarm of bees nesting inside the walls. The building is just rotting away, I hate to think what the bathroom floors look like under the carpeting! The only saving grace is that they allow pets, which accounts for the many, many reviews mentioning odors. It is also very loud, at least with windows open, as it sits close to the street and traffic in Lenox is awful. All that would be OK if the price was around $45 cause it is a lot more like a hostel than a full service B&B.

The Walker House is a pet-friendly 200 year old mansion serving as a bed and breakfast in the heart of Lenox, Massachussetts. The rooms are comfortable, charming and romantic. Ours had a bedside fireplace and a large bathroom. Peggy and Donna provided warm, heartfelt service and were entirely ready and able to meet all of our needs. We are repeat guests here, and recommend it highly, without any reservation.

I have stayed at Walker House at least half a dozen times and always look forward to coming back. Peggy and Dick make me feel completely at home. The rooms are beautiful - what could be nicer than falling asleep in an antique canopy bed with embers of a cheery fire in the fireplace. There are several friendly cats who contribute to the at-home atmosphere. Perfect location in Lenox, within easy stroll of shops and restaurants, and the bus from Boston or New York stops right in front.
